Jeffers will sit Friday against the Royals, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffers is the clear number one option behind the plate in Minnesota this season, starting 23 games compared to 15 for Gary Sanchez. When you factor in the pair's starts at the designated hitter spot, though, Sanchez now has the edge in total games in the lineup, getting the nod 28 times to Jeffers' 27 after his inclusion as Friday's starting catcher.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffers started the past two days behind the dish, so he'll be getting some routine maintenance Wednesday while Gary Sanchez picks up a start at catcher. Thanks to the injuries to Miguel Sano (knee), Alex Kirilloff (wrist) and Kyle Garlick (calf), the Twins have been able to find more opportunities to keep Jeffers and Sanchez in the lineup simultaneously, with Sanchez often picking up starts as the designated hitter.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
With Gary Sanchez returning from an abdominal injury over the weekend, Jeffers looks as though he'll fade into more of a part-time role after starting 11 times in 13-game stretch from April 15 to April 28. He'll now sit for the second time in the series while Sanchez draws the start behind the plate.

The Twins scratched Jeffers from the lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the White Sox due to a left knee contusion, Megan Ryan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Jeffers is available off the bench, the Twins will likely plan to have fill-in starter Jose Godoy catch all nine innings while Minnesota's other backstop, Gary Sanchez, is out of the lineup for a fourth straight game with abdominal tightness. The Twins will hope to have at least one of Jeffers or Sanchez healthy enough to check back in behind the plate for Tuesday's series opener with the Tigers.
