Borucki underwent surgery to remove bone spurs from his left elbow and will miss the rest of the 2019 season, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Borucki ominously had his case reviewed by Dr. James Andrews, but he received good news and will avoid Tommy John surgery. 2019 is a season to forget for the 25-year-old as he pitched only 6.2 innings after being sidelined the first half of the year with an elbow injury. Borucki expects to be ready to go for spring training.

The Blue Jays will consult with Dr. James Andrews to determine the best plan for Borucki's elbow going forward, Shi Davidi of Sporstnet.CA reports.
EDGE Analysis
While there initially was some confusion whether Borucki would be directly visiting Dr. Andrews or not, the overall outlook isn't promising. Borucki already had a three-month absence to begin the season, so this sojourn to the IL appears to be comfortably longer than the 10-day minimum.

Borucki was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with left elbow inflammation.
EDGE Analysis
Per Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca, Borucki's elbow didn't feel right after he played catch Wednesday, prompting the Blue Jays to move him back to the IL with a continuation of the same issue that prevented him from making his season debut until July 22. Borucki was blasted for six runs in just two innings over the weekend in what was just his second start back from the IL. The Blue Jays likely won't have a clearer idea for how long Borucki may be sidelined this time around until he resumes throwing again. Toronto selected reliever Buddy Boshers' contract from the minors in a corresponding move.

Borucki allowed six runs on eight hits, two walks and three strikeouts in two innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Borucki wriggled out of trouble in the first inning by inducing a double play after loading the bases with one out. However, the left-hander gave up three-run homers in the second to both Travis d'Arnaud and Willy Adames. The 25-year-old was making just his second appearance of this season, and he has struggled out of the gate with a 10.80 ERA, 3.15 WHIP and a 6:6 K:BB in his first 6.2 innings. Borucki will look to improve during his next start against the Orioles at Camden Yards next Thursday.

Borucki (0-1) took the loss Monday as the Blue Jays were downed 7-3 by Cleveland, giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits and four walks over 4.2 innings while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
After missing the first four months of the season, the southpaw made his 2019 debut but looked like he needed a little more time on a rehab assignment to shake off the rust. Borucki threw only 47 of 94 pitches for strikes, and when he did find the plate he caught too much of it -- four of the seven hits he allowed went for extra bases. He'll look for a better result in his next start Saturday, at home against the Rays.

Borucki (elbow) was activated from the injured list Monday ahead of his scheduled start against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Borucki is set to make his 2019 big-league debut after missing the past four months with an elbow injury. The southpaw looked solid across four minor-league rehab starts, compiling a 3.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB across 18 innings. Trent Thornton (elbow) was sent to the injured list in a corresponding move.

Borucki (elbow) will start Monday's game against the Indians, Alexis Brudnicki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Borucki has been on the shelf since April due to a left elbow injury, but he was able to complete his rehab assignment and will be brought back from the injured list to start Monday's contest. In 17 starts for Toronto last year, he posted a 3.87 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with a 67:33 K:BB over 97.2 innings.

Manager Charlie Montoyo said Borucki (elbow) would be activated from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday against the Tigers or Monday against the Indians, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
On the IL all season after succumbing to left elbow issues late in spring training, Borucki is finally ready to make his 2019 debut at the major-league level after a successful four-start rehab stint in the minors. Borucki made his final appearance Tuesday for Triple-A Buffalo, covering six innings and giving up three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six. He would be available to take the hill on normal rest Sunday, but Montoyo may prefer to use Borucki on Monday just to give the lefty an additional day to recover. In that scenario, Jacob Waguespack would remain in line to start Sunday's series finale.

Borucki (elbow) will make a rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Borucki has been out all season with elbow issues. He's made a pair of rehab appearances in the low minors and looked excellent, striking out 10 and walking none while allowing just a single hit in seven scoreless innings. He's expected to throw five or six innings Thursday and likely isn't too far from returning to Toronto.
