Unfortunately, the results weren't any better than they've been all year long -- Stripling has provided precious little in the way of longevity or run prevention as a starter, posting a 4.59 ERA over 64.2 innings. He's been much more effective (albeit in a limited sample) out of the bullpen, but the Dodgers' banged-up pitching staff will keep him in the rotation for the time being. A dark cloud looms on the horizon for Stripling, as he'll make his next start against the Rockies in Coors Field on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old famously tossed 7.1 innings of no-hit ball against the Giants in his major league debut, but he has endured some struggles at home (4.76 ERA) and hasn't struck out more than six batters in a start at any level this year.

However, the club needed to make room on the roster as Adam Liberatore and Bud Norris return from the DL. Stripling will head to Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he owns a 3.66 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.
