Roman Colon has signed with the Brother Elephants in Taiwan. Colon, 34, spent 2013 at Triple-A with three different organizations, posting a 4.74 ERA over 19 innings. He'll surely get a better payday overseas.

Pirates signed RHP Roman Colon to a minor league contract. Colon appeared in a few games for the Royals last season but spent most of the season at Triple-A, posting a 3.09 ERA, 7.9 K/9 and 3.8 BB/9 over 40 games. He's merely organizational depth.

Colon allowed six runs on 12 hits in three appearances (eight innings) for the Royals. He seems likely to pass through waivers unclaimed and accept an organizational depth role in the minors.
