Refsnyder (elbow) signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Refsnyder has played parts of six seasons in the majors and has yet to show he's anything more than a bench player. His 86 wRC+ last season, the product of a .245/.325/.338 slash line, is unimpressive but nonetheless represents his highest mark since his 16-game debut in 2015.
