The Phillies released Pinto on Aug. 12.
EDGE Analysis
After getting called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in early April to make his MLB debut, Pinto made six appearances out of the Philadelphia bullpen, picking up one save but logging a 10.97 ERA and 2.25 WHIP across 10.2 innings. He was outrighted off the 40-man roster in May and proceeded to turn in a 5.43 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over 59.2 innings with Lehigh Valley before being cut loose.

Pinto cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
EDGE Analysis
Pinto lost his spot on the 40-man roster Sunday after turning in a 10.97 ERA and 2.25 WHIP across 10.2 innings. The 30-year-old right-hander will now head to Triple-A in an effort to get back on track, but a return to the majors this year isn't likely, barring a drastic turnaround.

The Phillies designated Pinto for assignment on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Pinto had his contract selected from Tripel-A Lehigh Valley in early April and allowed 13 earned runs with an 8:5 K:BB over 10.2 innings while up with the Phillies. The right-hander should return to Lehigh Valley if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Pinto allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits over four innings. He struck out four and picked up the save while pitching the final four innings of Tuesday's win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Pinto was selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley just a couple hours before Tuesday's game and hadn't pitched in the majors since 2019. He was called upon in the sixth inning to preserve a 2-1 lead in rainy conditions and went on to pitch a four-inning save. If he manages to stick around, Pinto should be expected to operate in a low leverage relief role.

In a corresponding move, Connor Brogdon was designated for assignment. Pinto signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies in February. The pitcher spent 2023 playing in Mexico and Venezuela where he had a 4.12 ERA across 137.2 innings. When he last pitched in affiliated baseball, he had a 3.58 ERA in 2022. In spring training, the 30-year-old allowed two earned runs in 5.2 innings.

The Tigers reassigned Pinto to minor-league camp Monday.
EDGE Analysis
With an 8.44 ERA across 27 career MLB appearances -- and none coming since 2019 -- Pinto didn't have a real chance to win a spot in the Tigers' Opening Day bullpen. He'll likely head to Triple-A Toledo to begin the 2022 season.

Pinto re-signed with the Tigers on a minor-league contract earlier in the offseason, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pinto is expected to spent most of the 2022 season at Triple-A Toledo, where he saw the bulk of his action in 2021. He made 17 of his 23 starts with Toledo, posting a 4.63 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 95.1 innings. Pinto previously received cups of coffee in the big leagues with the Phillies in 2017 and with the Rays in 2019.

Pinto signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Saturday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pinto made his major-league debut with the Rays in 2019 but spent last season with the SK Wyverns of the KBO. He made 30 starts in Korea, posting a 6.17 ERA and 1.78 WHIP over 162 innings, but he'll now return to the majors and could compete for a roster spot to begin the season.

Pinto signed with the SK Wyverns of the KBO on Tuesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pinto was released by the Giants on Friday and will head abroad rather than attempting to secure another big-league job. Still just 25 years old, he's young enough that he could theoretically figure things out in Korea and return to the big leagues as an improved pitcher down the road. There's no particular reason to believe that will happen, however, as his ERA sits at 8.44 through 32 major-league innings.
