Brewers signed OF Rene Tosoni to a minor league contract. Tosoni spent all of 2012 at Triple-A with the Twins, putting up a woeful .224/.293/.315 batting line. He's just organizational depth.

Twins sent OF Rene Tosoni outright to Triple-A Rochester. The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Matt Carson. Tosoni has spent all year at Rochester, batting just .218/.299/.314 with three homers over 75 games.

Rene Tosoni went 3-for-4 and delivered a game-winning double for the Twins in the bottom of the ninth Thursday against the Mariners. Tosoni knocked in Trevor Plouffe to end a 3-2 game. It was his first three-hit game as a major leaguer, and it raised his average from .174 to .190. He figures to be right on the borderline to hold on to a spot on the Twins' 40-man roster this winter. The 25-year-old doesn't project as a regular, and he probably doesn't offer enough defensively to stick as a bench player.

Rene Tosoni returned to action on Monday September 19.

Rene Tosoni is not available Sunday due to flu-like symptoms. The bug is making its way around the Twins, as Justin Morneau and Danny Valencia are also known to the dealing with the illness. Tosoni should be OK in a day or two.
