Brignac cleared waivers Monday and was outrighted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com reports. The 28-year-old Brignac will become a free agent after the season, which explains the Phillies' willingness to drop him from their 40-man roster. He looks to be simply organizational depth at this stage of his career.

The Phillies designated Brignac for assignment Saturday. Brignac saw just 15 at-bats after his reinstatement from the DL back on July 21, and he failed to capitalize on his limited opportunities, recording just one hit and striking out nine times in those trips. Freddy Galvis was recalled to replace Brignac, who figures to move on to another organization this offseason.

Phillies placed INF Reid Brignac on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left ankle. Brignac suffered the injury during Thursday's win over the Cardinals. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined. Cody Asche (hamstring) has returned from the DL to take Brignac's spot on the roster.

Reid Brignac exited Thursday's game against the Cardinals with a left leg injury. It was a gruesome injury, as Brignac was trying to beat Cards pitcher Shelby Miller to the first base bag and caught his leg funny while colliding with the hurler. He was able to limp off with assistance, but a trip to the disabled list seems likely.

Reid Brignac went 3-for-6 with a two-run triple against the Braves on Monday. The triple came off a tired reliever after the game was essentially over, but who cares? It gave him seven RBI in his last five games, as he's taken over the Phillies' primary third baseman with Cody Asche out. He's about to return to a utility role, but one imagines he's content with a bench job and a major league salary after all of the bouncing around of the previous couple of years.

Reid Brignac went 1-for-4 with a walk-off three-run home run in Wednesday's win over the Padres. The Padres and Phillies battled for offensive futility supremacy, but Brignac snapped it with his walk-off blast against reliever Nick Vincent. It's his second walk-off hit for the Phillies despite having taken only 47 trips to the plate. The third baseman, filling in for the injured Cody Asche, has a home run and five runs batted in along with a .220/.304/.341 slash line, but is irrelevant for fantasy purposes.

Reid Brignac delivered a walk-off RBI single in the 14th inning to secure a 6-5 win over the Mets on Friday night. The game-winning hit was set up when Chris Young dropped a fly ball off the bat of Marlon Byrd to begin the inning. Carlos Ruiz then singled to center field and Cesar Hernandez was intentionally walked to load the bases before Brignac brought Byrd home. Brignac, who made the start at third base, went 2-for-5 with two walks and two strikeouts on the evening.

Phillies purchased the contract of INF Reid Brignac from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Brignac was batting .284/.357/.514 with five homers and 21 RBI early on at Triple-A. He'll provide some infield depth with Jimmy Rollins (groin) banged up.
