Randy Flores has opted out of his minor league contract with the Brewers and is now a free agent. Flores posted a 4.91 ERA in 11 appearances at Triple-A Nashville and was probably informed this week by the Brewers that he would not be a September callup. The 36-year-old southpaw could be nearing retirement.

Brewers signed LHP Randy Flores to a minor league contract. Flores was released by the Yankees this week after posting a 3.07 ERA and 20/5 K/BB ratio over 29 1/3 innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The veteran left-hander has a 4.61 ERA over parts eight seasons in the major leagues. The Brewers don't have a left-hander in their bullpen at the moment, so it wouldn't be surprising if he makes his way to the big-league roster rather quickly.

The Brewers are working on signing Randy Flores to a contract. Flores was just released by the Yankees earlier Tuesday after posting a 3.07 ERA and 20/5 K/BB ratio over 29 1/3 innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Brewers have been without a lefty in their pen for a while, so Flores could immediately join the big club.

Yankees released LHP Randy Flores. As expected. Flores had a a 3.07 ERA and 20/5 K/BB ratio over 29 1/3 innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but both sides agreed that it was best for him to pursue other options. According to Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com, the veteran southpaw is expected to sign with the Brewers.

The Yankees are expected to release left-hander Randy Flores from his minor league contract Tuesday. It was a mutual decision. Flores opted out out of his minor league deal with the Padres to sign with the Yankees in May. The 36-year-old southpaw posted a 3.07 ERA and 20/5 K/BB ratio over 29 1/3 innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but apparently the Yankees had no plans to add him to the big league roster. He shouldn't have any trouble finding a new home.
