Ramon Vazquez has reached agreement on a contract with the independent BridgePort Bluefish. Vazquez is hoping to eventually climb his way to the major leagues but the 35-year-old infielder faces long odds. He batted .230/.335/.279 for the Pirates in 2009.

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that Ramon Vazquez "is aiming for a comeback and is drawing interest." The 35-year-old hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2009. We can't imagine teams are beating down the door to sign him, but he can probably catch on with a minor league deal somewhere.

Blue Jays released INF Ramon Vazquez. As teams sign their draft picks and other players move up the ladder, guys like Vazquez, who was signed to a minor league deal just a month ago, are getting the boot. The 34-year-old will attempt to catch on elsewhere.
