Iglesias notched a save against the Rockies on Monday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter in one scoreless inning.
EDGE Analysis
Iglesias had a comfortable three-run lead to work with when he entered in the ninth frame, and he cruised through three outs, needing just nine pitches (eight of which were strikes) to secure the save despite giving up a two-out double. It was a promising bounce-back for the veteran closer after he allowed four runs over two innings across his previous two appearances. Iglesias holds an unimpressive 5.73 ERA on the campaign, but he has a more promising 10:2 K:BB and 1.09 WHIP over 11 frames and has been successful on five of seven save chances.

Iglesias (1-2) allowed one run on two hits over one inning, taking a blown save but earning the extra-inning win Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Iglesias gave up a piece of history in the ninth inning, allowing Eugenio Suarez's fourth home run of the game. It came at a bad time for Iglesias, as it tied the game at 7-7 just after Atlanta had rallied ahead in the eighth. The right-hander is now 4-for-6 in save chances this season, and he's been scored upon in five of his 10 outings, allowing a homer in each of those instances. He's at a putrid 6.30 ERA despite a passable 1.10 WHIP and 9:2 K:BB across 10 innings. Prior to Saturday, no other reliever had logged a save for Atlanta, but Dylan Lee was able to protect a one-run lead in the 10th inning to earn one. Iglesias' role as closer isn't in immediate danger, but he needs to get back on track soon.

Iglesias recorded one strikeout and didn't allow a baserunner in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Iglesias was handed a one-run advantage and needed just 11 pitches to retire the side in order. The 35-year-old closer has already given up three home runs through eight outings this year -- nearly matching 2024's regular-season total of four homers allowed -- but he's otherwise pitched well and has a 3.38 ERA and 8:1 K:BB while going 4-for-5 in save chances.

Iglesias pitched a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-4 win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Atlanta's five-run rally in the eighth inning created a save situation, and Iglesias took care of business. The closer hadn't pitched since Saturday -- Atlanta went 1-3 over its previous three games, and the one win didn't yield a save opportunity. He's allowed a run in three of his seven appearances this season while converting three of four save chances. The right-hander is at a 3.86 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB across seven innings.

Iglesias earned the save in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Rays, allowing one run on one hit in the ninth inning. He did not record a walk or a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Iglesias was able to protect a two-run lead in the ninth, though he did allow a two-out solo shot to Jonathan Aranda. On the season, the veteran owns a 4.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB across six innings while converting two of his three save chances. It's worth noting he has yielded three home runs already after surrendering just four across 69.1 innings in 2024.

Iglesias secured the save in Tuesday's 7-5 win over Philadelphia, allowing one walk in a scoreless ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Iglesias' only blemish came on a Bryce Harper walk, but the 35-year-old closer captured his first save of the 2025 campaign after getting Alec Bohm to pop out to third base. It was a nice bounce-back effort for Iglesias after he blew his first save chance against the Dodgers on April 2. He needed 15 pitches to get through Tuesday's game, so he should be available for another save opportunity should it present itself in the next game of the series.

Iglesias (0-1) took the loss and blew a save against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits while striking out two batters over one inning.
EDGE Analysis
With Atlanta off to an 0-6 start to the season, manager Brian Snitker didn't wait until the ninth inning to go to his closer as the team clung to a two-run, eighth-inning lead. Iglesias entered with one out and a runner on first base in that frame, inheriting a 2-0 count on Dodgers catcher Will Smith. Iglesias threw two more balls to put Smith on base but then got Tommy Edman to ground out to move within an out of escaping the jam. However, Max Muncy followed with a two-run, game-tying double, saddling Iglesias with a blown save. The veteran closer remained in the contest for the ninth, and he took the loss when Shohei Ohtani got to him for a walk-off homer. Iglesias went 67-for-75 in save chances over the past two regular seasons, so he figures to have plenty of leash despite Wednesday's stumble.

Iglesias gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning during Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Atlanta's closer has been sharp in camp, posting a 0.00 ERA and 3:1 K:BB in his three innings so far. Iglesias has produced 67 saves along with a 2.30 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 9.79 K/9 over the last two seasons, and the 35-year-old is entrenched in his ninth-inning role heading into Opening Day.

Iglesias blew his fourth save of the season in the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the Mets, giving up two runs on two hits in one-third of an inning. He then gave up a hit in a scoreless ninth inning during the second game to record his 34th save of the year.
EDGE Analysis
With Atlanta clinging to a 3-2 lead in the eighth inning of the matinee and needing at least one win in the twin bill to secure a playoff spot, Iglesias got the call with nobody out and runners on first and second to try and shut down a rally, but the veteran closer gave up an RBI single to Jose Iglesias, a sacrifice fly to Mark Vientos and a two-run homer to Brandon Nimmo. Atlanta wound up losing 8-7, but Iglesias shut the door in the nightcap, taking him off the hook for what might have been a season-ruining meltdown. It was his first blown save since Aug. 27, but the second time in his final eight appearances of the regular season he's been tagged for multiple runs. Fatigue could be a factor after the 34-year-old finished the regular season with 69.1 innings, his biggest workload since 2021. Iglesias has also taken the mound four times in the last four days, which likely makes him unavailable should Atlanta have a late lead to protect Tuesday in Game 1 of its NL Wild Card Series against the Padres.

Iglesias (6-2) struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the win over the Royals on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Iglesias kept the game tied at 1-1 in the top of the ninth inning, and Travis d'Arnaud walked it off for Atlanta with a solo home run in the bottom of the frame. Iglesias has allowed six runs (five earned) over 14 innings this month, but five of them came in one appearance versus the Dodgers on Sept. 15. The closer has a 1.72 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 68:13 K:BB across 68 innings this season while converting 33 of 36 save chances. Iglesias has thrown a modest 16 pitches over the last two days, so he could still be available for a potential save opportunity Sunday.
