Ynoa was reassigned to minor league camp Monday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old bashed a pair of home runs in his case for a major league roster spot, but it was all for naught as he never was much of a threat to the others competing for a roster spot. Ynoa will likely serve as organizational depth moving forward, but don't be surprised if reappears in Denver later in the season like he has the past few seasons.

Ynoa received a non-roster invite to spring training.
EDGE Analysis
Ynoa has gotten a crack at the major leagues each of the past three seasons, including a 19-game stretch in 2014 where he slashed .343/.380/.463 over 71 plate appearances. He spent the majority of 2016 with Triple-A Albuquerque, where he hit .263/.326/.356 in 532 plate appearances across 121 games. The 29-year-old got five hitless major league plate appearances in 2016, but was outrighted back to Triple-A Albuquerque in early September. He's not likely to open the season on the major league roster.

Ynoa was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Colorado will retain Ynoa in its system, but the infielder is no longer on the club's 40-man roster. He adds some organizational depth in left field and at the middle infield spots, but the Rockies are loaded in those areas, which lessens his chances of getting back up on the major league roster.

Ynoa was designated for assignment on Tuesday, the Denver Post's Nick Kosmider reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rockies made a flurry of moves Tuesday and needed to clear a couple spots on the 40-man roster, and Ynoa was one of the casualties. If he clears waivers he will continue to offer organizational outfield depth, but it is clear at this point that he has been passed by the likes of Raimel Tapia and Jordan Patterson on the organizational depth chart.

Ynoa was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque, Jenny Cavnar of Root Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Gerardo Parra coming off the DL, Ynoa is headed back down to Albuquerque. During his latest stint with the big club, Ynoa went 0-for-5 at the plate with two strikeouts.

The Rockies have recalled Ynoa from Triple-A Albuquerque.
EDGE Analysis
Ynoa has been called up to replace Trevor Story, who was placed on the disabled list Tuesday. Ynoa will most likely spell Cristhian Adames and Daniel Descalso at shortstop in Story's absence. Over his past 10 game at Triple-A, the 28-year-old is hitting .256 in 43 at-bats.

Mon 4/25/16 6:26 PM

Ynoa has started 2016 with a .269/.342/.433 line while hitting seven doubles and two triples in 16 games.
EDGE Analysis
Over the past few seasons, Ynoa has been somewhat enigmatic in both Colorado and Triple-A Albuquerque, as he's shown bursts of brilliance, followed by droughts where his stats have plummeted. This year has been no different, as he ended spring training with a .357 batting average and only six strikeouts in 42 at-bats, but has begun the 2016 campaign by hitting .269. However, through the ups and downs, Ynoa's power has increased dramatically. He already has seven doubles and is on pace to surpass last season's Triple-A total of 12 in no time. If he continues to display this power and gets his average closer to the .300 mark, he could get back to the show before season's end.

Ynoa was optioned to the minor leagues Monday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ynoa put together a nice spring stat line, but it came to no avail as the Rockies opted to give him more time in the minor leagues. With this development, Christian Adames and Tony Wolters have a much better chance of making the roster as reserve infield options.

Ynoa is 8-for-24 with three RBI, three runs, three walks, and five strikeouts in 15 spring games.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old is vying for one of the last 25-man roster spots, and he is making a strong case for the job. It helps that Daniel Descalso may not be ready for Opening Day after suffering a fracture in his hand, but Ynoa's versatility is also a big factor. He can play multiple infield positions and even has some experience in left field. With all of this going for him, he has a decent chance of making the roster out of camp in a reserve utility role.

Ynoa went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI in a 8-6 loss to Arizona on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The Rockies utility man has not seen much playing time this season, but he's a clubhouse favorite. The Rockies broadcast always raves about his work ethic and his versatility and that alone might garner him a spot on the opening day roster next season. The tough oart is that with a .268 OBP and no power to speak of, it's hard to see much upside with Ynoa.
