Dickey is currently not in danger of losing his starting job to Drew Hutchison, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dickey has a 6.75 ERA through five starts, which is ugly, but isn't much different from his performance at the start of recent seasons. From 2013-15, Dickey had April ERAs of 4.50, 5.09 and 5.23, respectively, and each year, he went on to have a strong second half. If the downward trend continues, Hutchison could receive an opportunity, but that line of thinking is still a long way off.

Dickey (1-3) was shelled for six runs on eight hits over six innings in Tuesday's loss to the White Sox, striking out three with one walk.
EDGE Analysis
Dickey is still yet to top six innings pitched this season, but his 4.13 FIP suggests there's legitimate hope for improvement on his atrocious 6.75 ERA. The veteran knuckleballer has delivered only one quality start in five tries to date, and has given up six runs in each of his first two home appearances. He'll look to improve his results at the Rogers Centre with the Rangers in town Monday.

Dickey (1-2) pitched six innings, allowing three runs, five hits and two walks while striking out five against the Orioles on Wednesday. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Through four outings in 2016, the knuckleballer has a 6.10 ERA and 1.69 WHIP. There are a couple of reasons to remain optimistic about Dickey moving forward. So far, most of the damage has been done in two outings (both of his loses) against the Red Sox. Also, Dickey got off to a terrible start last season before going on to finish with the second-best WHIP (1.19) of his career. It's not time to panic on the 2012 Cy Young winner just yet.

Dickey allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits, walking four and striking out three over 4.2 innings as Toronto dropped a 5-3 decision against the Red Sox on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
Dickey (1-2, 6.75 ERA) couldn't find the strike zone, needing 106 pitches (62 for strikes) to record just 14 outs, and when he did get the ball over the plate, the Red Sox hitters found holes. Knuckleball pitchers will have nights like this, but the Jays will hope for better results when Dickey takes on Baltimore on the road in his next start.

Dickey struck out nine and also surrendered eight hits, seven runs (six earned) and two walks over five innings in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The knuckleballer labored through five innings and 101 pitches, giving up RBI doubles to Xander Bogaerts and Travis Shaw in the first, which were preceded by Dustin Pedroia's RBI groundout. He also gave up a Blake Swihart sacrifice fly in the fourth, and a Hanley Ramirez RBI triple in the fifth that bounced over the head of Jose Bautista. His knuckler prompted two passed balls by catcher Josh Thole, and Dickey was also guilty of a wild pitch. Dickey's next trip to the mound is likely to come on Thursday versus the Yankees.

For the first time in 16 years, two knuckleballers will start against each other when Dickey battles Red Sox pitcher Steven Wright on Saturday, the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dickey said he's had his eye on Wright for the past few years and has spoken to him on numerous occasions. The game at Rogers Centre Saturday will be something of a seismic event in the knuckleball world. To make the most of this special occasion, the 41-year-old right-hander will need to pitch better than he did last season against the Red Sox -- in six starts, Dickey finished 0-3 with a 4.62 ERA, while allowing 38 hits (six home runs) over 37 innings.

Dickey (1-0) gave up three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three in Monday's win over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't a great outing by any means, but Dickey was able to hold the Rays to little enough while his team went to work battering opposing starter Drew Smyly. At age 41, Dickey and his knuckleball seem about the same as ever, so there's no reason he can't turn in another season with an ERA in the high threes, which should be accompanied by a good number of wins. He'll draw the Red Sox on Saturday.

Dickey underwent surgery at the end of the 2015 campaign to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, but indicated Sunday that he's doing fine, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dickey's last few seasons in Toronto haven't matched up to his previous campaigns with the Mets, but the 41-year-old knuckleballer still has at least one year left with the club after the Blue Jays decided to exercise his $12 million option for 2016 in November. While his numbers have declined, he's still eating up innings, topping 200 in each of the past five seasons. He'll lead the Blue Jays rotation again in 2016, but his drop in strikeouts (126 in 2015 versus 173 in 2014) lessens his appeal in many fantasy leagues.

Dickey's club option for 2016 was exercised by the Blue Jays Tuesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dickey, who turned 41 years-old at the end of October, recorded his usual 200+ innings with the Blue Jays in 2015, but struggled to push his ERA under 4.00 for much of the season. While the knuckleballer did record a 1.19 WHIP -- tied for the second lowest mark of his career -- it remains to be seen where Toronto will slot him into the rotation next year, with multiple starters expected to receive some interest in free agency this offseason.

Dickey will start Game 4 of the ALCS against the Royals on Tuesday, John Lott of the National Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 40-year-old knuckleballer more than held his own in Game 4 of the ALDS, but he had a short hook, and that will likely be the case Tuesday in the second game of the series at Rogers Centre. Dickey shut out the Royals over seven innings, allowing just two hits and two walks, in his lone start against them during the regular season (Aug. 2).
