Bourjos was working with hitting coach Steve Henderson on Saturday to try to fix his timing and approach at the plate, Jeff Neiburg of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bourjos is hitting just .152 (5-for-33) with a .449 OPS in his first 11 games of the season. He was on the bench Saturday as the Phillies tried to inject more offense into their lineup with Darin Ruf in left. Bourjos could continue to see his playing time slip if he cannot get his bat going.

Bourjos and Cedric Hunter could be at risk of losing playing time in the outfield to Darin Ruf, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies stressed defense this spring and did not plan to use Ruf in the outfield, but manager Pete Mackanin is willing to move away from that approach to get more offense in his lineup. Bourjos went 1-for-3 against the Mets on Saturday. He has just two hits in 15 at-bats thus far.

Bourjos is batting seventh and starting in right field Monday, Corey Seidman of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies are going to give Bourjos a chance to show what he can do early this season. He stole 22 bags in 2011, the last time he played full time, so there could be some value here if he can get on base a bit. He owns a .241/.302/.380 career batting line at the major league level.

Bourjos will move to left or right field this season, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bourjos has only played center in the majors, but the Phillies are planning to leave that position to Odubel Herrera. Bourjos is going to get a chance to play regularly for the Phillies after seeing limited action over the last four seasons. He stole 22 bags in 2011, the last time he played full-time, so there could be some value here. The Phils do have some young outfield talent that will be ready for the majors soon which means Bourjos could also find himself on the bench later in the season if he does not produce.

GM Matt Klentak said Bourjos will be in the mix for a starting outfield job this spring, CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bourjos, who is considered an elite defender, will battle with Odubel Herrera for playing time in center field. The Phillies could end up with both players in their starting lineup by shifting one of the two to left field which would push Code Ashe to the bench.

Bourjos signed a one-year contract with the Phillies on Wednesday, avoiding arbitration.
EDGE Analysis
Hours after being claimed off waivers from St. Louis, Bourjos signed on the dotted line with his new club, avoiding a date with an arbiter. Heralded mostly for his outfield defense, Bourjos owns just a .241/.302/.380 career batting line at the major league level, with his high point coming in 2011 when he hit .271 with 12 homers and 22 steals.

Bourjos was claimed off waivers by the Phillies on Wednesday, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bourjos spent last season with the Cardinals, appearing in 117 games and hitting .200/.290/.333 in 195 at-bats. The speedy, 28-year-old will add outfield depth for Philadelphia, likely in a similar role to the one he held last season in St. Louis.

Bourjos came off the bench to hit a solo homer in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The speedy outfielder has had to make due in limited opportunities, notching just nine at-bats in September. Bourjos hasn't been able to steal bases or score runs in his limited role, nullifying his fantasy relevance this season.

Bourjos returned to the lineup Saturday against the Cubs, going 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. The Cardinals were a bit concerned about Bourjos after he took a cleat to the head from Cubs catcher David Ross when he slid home to score the winning run Friday night, but the outfielder passed all concussion tests and was deemed good to go. The start was the first in a week for Bourjos, who seems to have settled into a fourth outfield role with Jon Jay reclaiming regular duties in center.

Bourjos homered, his second, in Tuesday's win over Colorado. Bourjos had been struggling with left-handers, as he had just a .212 average in 33 at-bats heading into the game. Bourjos is now hitting a solid .263/.336/.421 and is keeping the pressure on Jon Jay and Randal Grichuk for center field playing time.
