Bourjos will get a regular maintenance day after making nine straight starts in right field. The move will allow manager Pete Mackanin to get an extra left-handed bat in his lineup, as David Lough will take the place of Bourjos both in the field and the nine-spot in the batting order. Through 13 games in May, Bourjos is 10-for-36 at the dish to bring his batting average back up to a barely passable .204 on the year.

Bourjos also was caught stealing. He has yet to swipe a bag this season, but opportunities are tough to come by when you are hitting .185 with a .224 on-base percentage. He will continue to see fairly regular playing time in right field for the Phillies thanks to the excellent defense he gives the team.
