Manager Pete Mackanin confirmed Tuesday that Bourjos is now a bench player, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mackanin said Bourjos has to make a drastic change to his offensive approach. He is hitting just .196 with a .511 OPS in 158 plate appearances. Pitchers have feed Bourjos a steady diet of breaking pitches, which he is unable to lay off. Tyler Goeddel and Jimmy Paredes will share playing time in right field moving forward.

EDGE Analysis
Bourjos will get his first start in seven games in center field for Odubel Herrera. The 29-year-old has struggled offensively this season, hitting just .193 with one home run, nine RBI, and 11 runs scored.

Bourjos went 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter in the Phillies' loss to the Brewers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Bourjos has been on the bench for five straight games now with the return of Cody Asche from the disabled list and the addition of Jimmy Paredes from Toronto. He has hit just .194/.227/.285 in 144 at-bats this season. He has provided elite defense, but manager Pete Mackanin is trying to get more offense into his lineup and Bourjos is going to lose playing time because of it.

Bourjos went 2-for-4 with his first home run of the season in Wednesday's win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Productive games with the bat are few and far between for Bourjos, who keeps his lineup spot thanks to his elite defensive skills. He is hitting .203/.233/.305 with three stolen bases in 128 at-bats this season. Cody Asche's impending return could put Bourjos on the bench a little more frequently moving forward as Tyler Goeddel could rotate between left and right field.

Bourjos is out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Bourjos will get a regular maintenance day after making nine straight starts in right field. The move will allow manager Pete Mackanin to get an extra left-handed bat in his lineup, as David Lough will take the place of Bourjos both in the field and the nine-spot in the batting order. Through 13 games in May, Bourjos is 10-for-36 at the dish to bring his batting average back up to a barely passable .204 on the year.

Bourjos went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two walks in the Phillies' 6-4 loss to the Marlins on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Bourjos also was caught stealing. He has yet to swipe a bag this season, but opportunities are tough to come by when you are hitting .185 with a .224 on-base percentage. He will continue to see fairly regular playing time in right field for the Phillies thanks to the excellent defense he gives the team.

Manager Pete Mackanin said Bourjos will not be in the lineup this weekend while he works on his approach at the plate, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mackanin said the Phillies are working with Bourjos to "get him moving to the ball instead of rotating around the ball." Darin Ruf is expected to start in left field and David Lough will likely be in right field while Bourjos is out of the lineup.

Bourjos is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philly reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bourjos is coming off a solid 2-for-5 performance with two RBI against the Mets on Wednesday, but is still off to a slow start this season, hitting just .191 overall. If he doesn't pick up the slack he could begin to lose some at-bats to Darin Ruf who the Phillies have started giving reps in the outfield to.

Bourjos is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Mets, Ryan Lawrence of PhillyVoice.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bourjos has struggled mightily to open up the season, as he's hitting just .175 with 12 strikeouts through 13 games. He could continue seeing more frequent off days as he continues to struggle, as David Lough will take over in right field and bat sixth against Logan Verrett on Tuesday.
