Wisdom will sit Friday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Wisdom will sit for the second time in the season's first seven games, missing out on a potential Coors Field start. He's started the season very poorly, going 1-for-21 with 11 strikeouts. Jonathan Villar will take over at third base.

Wisdom will start at third base and bat seventh Wednesday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
After batting third in Tuesday's 2-1 win, Wisdom will drop back down to a bottom-third spot in the order, where he's resided in both of his other two starts this season. Wisdom entered 2022 with one of the more volatile profiles, as he slugged 28 home runs in 106 games last season but struck out in 40.9 percent of his plate appearances. He's been more bust than boom thus far, whiffing in seven of his 15 plate appearances while providing no extra-base hits.

Wisdom went 2-for-2 with two home runs and four RBI in Sunday's Cactus League game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
So much for a slow start to the spring, as Wisdom broke out in a big way. The Cubs added Jonathan Villar recently, which adds competition at third base, though Wisdom also has a path to playing time at designated hitter. If the 30-year-old continues to supply power like he did last season, when he blasted 28 home runs, he should be able to keep himself in the lineup most days.

Wisdom has just one hit and a walk in nine Cactus League at-bats to go with five strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Wisdom had a breakout 2021 campaign, smashing 28 home runs and posting an .823 OPS across 106 games, though his season ended a bit early due to a sore right wrist. He's reportedly healthy to begin camp, so the slow start is probably more just a matter of shaking off rust. Still, it'd be nice to see Wisdom get going to prove last year wasn't a flash in the pan. The 30-year-old only had four career MLB home runs prior to 2021.

Wisdom (wrist) took live at-bats against teammate Justin Steele during the Cubs' team workout Monday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The activity is evidence that Wisdom is good to go for the start of the 2022 campaign after he missed the final week of the 2021 season with a sore right wrist. Before the injury cropped up, the 30-year-old was one of the pleasant surprises in a non-contending season for the Cubs, as he paced the team with 28 home runs while driving in 61, scoring 54 times and chipping in four steals. However, a low walk rate (8.6 percent) and a bloated 40.9 percent strikeout rate made him less valuable from a real-life standpoint. Though the big power production he supplied in 2021 locks him into an everyday role heading into Opening Day, Wisdom may need to pare down his strikeouts to ensure he maintains a regular lineup spot for the balance of the season.

The Cubs placed Wisdom (wrist) on the injured list Wednesday without a designation, an indication that he's been deactivated from reasons related to COVID-19, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wisdom had missed the Cubs' last two games with a sore right wrist, but that doesn't seem to be the reason behind his shutdown. Since the Cubs selected Trent Giambrone's contract from Triple-A Iowa, Wisdom was most likely placed on the COVID-19-related IL, which would open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Giambrone. While Wisdom could have an outside chance to be reinstated at some point before the Cubs' final four games of the campaign if his placement on the IL was precautionary rather than the result of a positive test, his 2021 campaign is most likely over. The 30-year-old should earn some National League Rookie of the Year votes after he hit .231 with 28 home runs, 61 RBI, 54 runs and four stolen bases across 374 plate appearances for Chicago.

Wisdom (wrist) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Wisdom was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to right wrist soreness, and he'll be out of the starting nine for a second straight game. Matt Duffy will shift to third base while David Bote starts at the keystone.

Wisdom was scratched from Sunday's lineup versus the Cardinals due to right wrist soreness.
EDGE Analysis
Wisdom was slated to start at third base but was pulled from the lineup due to the wrist issue. It's unclear if he'll be available off the bench, and he'll have Monday's scheduled off day to aid in his recovery before potentially missing additional time. Matt Duffy was set to sit Sunday but will instead start at the hot corner.

Wisdom went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss in the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Wisdom went hitless in the first game of Friday' twin bill but connected on a two-strike fastball in the first inning of the second game, sending it 453 feet to center field. The long ball was his 28th of the year as he's making a late push for the National League Rookie of the Year award. The 29-year-old is slashing .233/.304/.522 with 28 home runs, 61 RBI, 54 runs scored, four steals and 30:151 BB:K over 369 plate appearances. His power is clear as day, although his 40.9 strikeout rate is limiting his potential at the plate.

Wisdom went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a stolen base Tuesday in the Cubs' 9-5 loss to the Twins. He was also struck by two pitches.
EDGE Analysis
Wisdom's sky-high strikeout rate (40.3 percent) and modest walk rate (8.2 percent) have limited him to an unimpressive .308 on-base percentage on the season, but he did his part to raise that mark by reaching base three times. He'll remain in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale, batting third and starting at third base.
