McCoy cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday. The 26-year-old lefty reliever is already on his third team, but in 14 innings with Detroit last year, he finally got a taste of the big leagues and posted a 3.86 ERA. He offers an organizational lefty relief option, but is unlikely to ever be fantasy relevant in most formats.

McCoy was claimed off waivers by the Orioles on Friday. The lefty reliever posted a 3.86 ERA in 14 innings for the Tigers last year, in his first big league action, and will offer organizational bullpen depth for the Orioles.

McCoy was recalled by the Tigers on Friday night, Matthew Mowery of the Oakland Press reports. After Robbie Ray went just 1.1 innings in his start against the Twins, the Tigers needed to add fresh arms to the bullpen. McCoy has posted a 2.59 ERA and 0.997 WHIP along with a 25:6 K:BB over 31.1 innings this season with the MudHens.

McCoy was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports. McCoy's services were required for three of the Tigers' 19-inning affair Sunday. Although he held the Blue Jays scoreless on two hits and five walks, the Tigers have opted to call in reinforcements to the bullpen. Expect him to make further appearances for the big club, albeit in low-leverage situations.

Tigers placed LHP Patrick McCoy on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring. McCoy has allowed one run over five relief innings since being promoted last month. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined.
