Martinez signed a Minor League contract with the Orioles on Monday, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports. Martinez spent the majority of the 2014 season at Triple-A Gwinnett of the Braves organization but started the year at Double-A Chattanooga before getting traded in May to the Braves. He will likely start the 2015 season at Triple-A Norfolk seeing that he only has played in 34 big league games over the course of his career.

Martinez, 23, was an 11th round selection in the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft. Known more for his defense than offense, he batted just .245/.296/.322 with three home runs and 26 RBI in 371 plate appearances this season at Triple-A New Orleans. He can't really be considered a prospect. The trade is expected to go final on Wednesday.
