Colas agreed Sunday with the Angels on a minor-league contract, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Once Colas passes a physical, he's expected to report to the Angels' Double-A affiliate in Rocket City. After signing with the White Sox in January 2022 as an international free agent out of Cuba, Colas quickly emerged as one of the organization's top prospects. He never delivered on his potential, however, amassing a .223/.271/.309 slash line across 301 plate appearances over 88 games in Chicago between the 2023 and 2024 seasons before he was removed from the 40-man roster in late March. The 26-year-old outfielder had continued to languish in the minors before the White Sox released him Saturday, as he turned in a .500 OPS in 29 games between Triple-A Charlotte and Double-A Birmingham this season.

The White Sox released Colas from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Colas was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte in late March after being DFA'd by the White Sox at the conclusion of spring training. The 26-year-old has struggled in Triple-A this season, slashing .116/.224/.209 with two steals, six RBI and a 34.7 percent strikeout rate over 49 plate appearances. Colas appeared in 88 regular-season games for the White Sox between 2023 and 2024, and there may be a team out there willing to take a flier on the Cuban outfielder.

The White Sox outrighted Colas to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Colas is no longer on Chicago's 40-man roster but will remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 26-year-old has slashed only .223/.271/.309 in 88 games at the big-league level.

The White Sox designated Colas for assignment Wednesday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Colas got a big signing bonus from the White Sox in January of 2022 after defecting from Cuba and had a nice first season in the minors, but things have trended poorly since then. The 26-year-old has hit only .223/.271/.309 in 88 games at the major-league level and will likely pass through waivers unclaimed.

Colas didn't make the White Sox's Opening Day roster and will be optioned to Triple-A Charlotte, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Colas missed nearly two weeks of action due to a sprained right wrist he suffered March 6, but he returned to go 0-for-1 with a walk in Wednesday's contest. He'll finish Cactus League play 4-for-16 with an RBI and two runs scored and will now return to Charlotte for the start of the new campaign.

Colas exited Thursday's Cactus League game against the Giants due to a sprained right wrist.
EDGE Analysis
The fact that the White Sox have labeled Colas day-to-day suggests that his injury isn't too severe, though he may still need to sit out for a few exhibition games. The 26-year-old has done well in the race for a roster spot thus far, going 4-for-15 with an RBI and two runs scored over nine spring contests.

The White Sox are considering moving Colas to first base this upcoming season, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
As Romero noted, a move from the outfield to first base could improve Colas' odds of making Chicago's Opening Day roster. Colas saw just 13 games of big-league action last season. He slashed .273/.368/.273 with just four RBI and zero extra-base hits across 38 plate appearances. The White Sox have a plethora of capable outfielders, including Andrew Benintendi, Luis Robert, Mike Tauchman, Austin Slater, Miguel Vargas and Dominic Fletcher. Colas would give Chicago a left-handed option to pair with Andrew Vaughn at first base.

The White Sox optioned Colas to Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The move corresponds with Eloy Jimenez (hamstring) being reinstated off the injured list Sunday. Colas joined the big club June 1 due to injuries across the roster, but he saw his playing time decrease over time. In 12 appearances since his call-up, Colas went 9-for-32 with four RBI and a .660 OPS over 32 at-bats. He should settle back into an everyday role in the minors, where he is slashing .244/.358/.406 with five home runs and 21 RBI over 193 plate appearances in Triple-A.

White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Thursday that Colas may be optioned to Triple-A Charlotte soon in order to play on an everyday basis, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Colas hasn't started a game in a week, and while Grifol said he plans to put the outfielder in the lineup soon, he admitted that it might be more beneficial for the 25-year-old to go back to the minors. The outfielder has gone 9-for-30 at the plate during his limited chances with the White Sox this season, although all nine hits have been singles. Chicago will be sellers at the trade deadline, and playing time for Colas could open up at that point.

Colas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Colas is on the bench for the third game in a row and looks like he'll serve as little more than a fourth or fifth outfielder for the White Sox following the recent returns of Tommy Pham and Andrew Benintendi from the injured list.
