Norichika Aoki's RBI double provided the Brewers only run in Friday's loss to the Reds. Aoki finished hte night 1-for-4. His RBI double in the eighth inning was the lone blemish on an excellent performance from Reds starter Homer Bailey. He continues to impress out of the leadoff spot in the Brewers lineup, hitting .287 with five homers, 21 RBI and 11 stolen bases on the season.

Norichika Aoki went 2-for-4 with a double and run scored in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks. The extra-base hit was Aoki's first in six games. Aoki is hitting a surprising .291/.357/.443 through his first 70 major league games, but provides precious little run production (four home runs, 14 RBI). He's little more than a spare outfielder in 12-14 team mixed leagues.

Norichika Aoki will make his first major league start in center field Friday. Aoki's only other start was on April 11 in left field. The 30-year-old is 3-for-10 with an RBI and two walks thus far and is unlikely to have much fantasy value buried on the outfield depth chart.

Norichika Aoki was scratched from Tuesday's Cactus League lineup due to right hamstring tightness. The Brewers are calling the discomfort "mild" and expect Aoki to be fine in a couple of days. The Japanese outfielder has shown enough this spring to secure a backup job.

Norichika Aoki went 3-for-3 with a triple, run scored and three RBI in Monday's win over the Rangers. The multi-hit game was just Aoki's second of the spring, while the extra-base hit was also only his second. Ticketed for a reserve role, Aoki isn't worth a draft pick outside of deeper NL-only leagues.

According to the Associated Press, Norichika Aoki's two-year deal with the Brewers includes a $1.5 million club option for 2014 or a $250,000 buyout. Aoki agreed to a two-year, $2.5 million contract with the Brewers last week which includes a $1 million salary for 2012 and a $1.25 million salary for 2013. If the 2014 option is exercised and he makes at least 140 starts and has 150 games played per season, he will make $8,187,500 over the life of the contract. It's unlikely that will happen, as the Brewers view him as a reserve outfielder.

Norichika Aoki's new contract with the Brewers guarantees salaries of $1 million in 2012 and $1.25 million in 2013. The deal also includes incentives and a club option for 2013. Aoki, who turned 30 earlier this month, was a .329 lifetime hitter in Japan and a Gold Glove winner for his defense in center field. While he doesn't project as a starter in MLB, he provides some much-needed outfield depth on a team that is bracing for the impact of Ryan Braun losing his appeal for a 50-game suspension.
