Nolan Reimold hit a two-run homer, walked four times and stole two bases Wednesday as the Orioles beat the Yankees 5-4 in 11 innings. Reimold needs some big games down the stretch to keep himself in Baltimore's plans, and today's was a nice start. He has nine homers and 31 RBI in 216 at-bats for the season. His OBP jumped from .298 to .311 today.

Nolan Reimold went 0-for-3 and misplayed a ball in left field Wednesday in the loss to the A's. Neither Reimold nor Felix Pie has done anything to capitalize on Luke Scott's absence so far. Reimold does have seven homers in 158 at-bats, but it's come with a .215 average and twice as many strikeouts as walks. He also cost the Orioles two or three runs with his misplay today. At this rate, he's going to be left out of the team's plans for 2012.

Nolan Reimold will bat leadoff Friday against the Tigers. This is his first start of the season out of the leadoff spot and the second of his career. The 27-year-old hit a walkoff two-run homer on Wednesday and had a two-hit game Thursday, so O's manager Buck Showalter is clearly hoping that he can provide a spark on offense.

Reimold is batting just .215 with a .296 on-base percentage this season, but he has a .400 slugging percentage and is up to seven total dingers.

O's manager Buck Showalter mentioned recently that he'd like to get Reimold some more playing time, and the outfielder certainly stated his case tonight. He's received just 50 at-bats since being called up in late May but is hitting a healthy .280 with four homers and 12 RBI.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter would like to give Nolan Reimold more playing time. Reimold has received just 46 at-bats since being called up in mid-May and last started on June 15. "It's been a challenge," Showalter said. "We keep hoping that Luke [Scott] can get it going. We went through a period where there were a lot of left-handed pitchers, so it was pretty easy. We are going through a period now where it is just the opposite. It's something that, on my list of things that kind of bug me, that's one of them."
