Gorman is not in the Cardinals' starting lineup against the Brewers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
With the Brewers sending southpaw Jose Quintana to the mound, the lefty-hitting Gorman will head to the dugout for the start of Sunday's game while Luken Baker serves as the designated hitter and bats fifth. Since being reinstated from the 10-day injured list April 12, Gorman has gone 6-for-37 (.162) with five walks, four runs scored, seven RBI and a 31.8 percent strikeout rate.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Tuesday that he plans to give Gorman a lengthy "run" of starts, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marmol revealed the plan prior to Gorman delivering a go-ahead, bases-clearing double in the eighth inning of Tuesday's win in Atlanta. Brendan Donovan (rib) being banged up has allowed Gorman to settle in at second base and in the third spot in the lineup for a second straight day Wednesday, and Gorman has started five straight contests overall. Donovan is not expected to need a stint on the injured list, and when he returns Gorman could get at-bats in the designated hitter spot at the expense of Alec Burleson.

Gorman went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Tuesday's win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Gorman provided some clutch hitting with the bases loaded and cleared them all with a double to right field. It's his second straight game with a double and an RBI and his first game with multiple RBI since July 20 of last year. Gorman's now up to seven RBI with five extra-base knocks.

Gorman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Since being reinstated from the injured list Saturday, Gorman has started in three of the Cardinals' ensuing five games while going 1-for-8 with a double, two walks and two RBI during that stretch. With Masyn Winn (back) on the injured list, Gorman will likely be part of a timeshare in the middle infield with Thomas Saggese, who gets the nod at shortstop Wednesday while Brendan Donovan handles second base.

Gorman will start at second base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
The left-handed hitting Gorman is making his second straight start at the keystone and his first start this season versus a left-handed pitcher in Framber Valdez. The Cardinals are going with another left-handed hitter in Brendan Donovan at shortstop, while the right-handed hitting Thomas Saggese will begin the contest on the bench.

The Cardinals reinstated Gorman (hamstring) from the injured list Saturday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
A strained right hamstring has kept Gorman out of action since the beginning of April. The Cardinals likely would have preferred to send the 24-year-old out on a rehab assignment before activating him, but Masyn Winn's (back) move to the IL on Saturday created an urgent need for infield depth on the big-league roster. Gorman's easiest path to playing time is likely at second base or designated hitter, though he isn't expected to have a regular role at either position.

The Cardinals will decide this weekend whether Gorman (hamstring) will go out on a rehab assignment before returning to the active roster, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Out since early April with a mild right hamstring strain, Gorman has been participating in batting practice and other baseball activities. It's not clear whether he has tested out the hamstring with running yet. It seems the team prefers for Gorman to get in some rehab at-bats before being activated, but Masyn Winn's (back) expected unavailability for a few days could alter its thinking.

Gorman said Friday that the right hamstring strain that sent him to the 10-day injured list is "super mild," John Denton of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gorman has remained with the Cardinals on their road trip as he continues with strengthening his right leg, and he does not anticipate needing a rehab assignment before returning. It sounds like he has a good shot to be activated April 12 when first eligible.

The Cardinals placed Gorman on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to April 2, due to a right hamstring strain, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gorman presumably suffered the injury during his last appearance Tuesday versus the Angels, during which he went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double and a run scored. Prior to the injury, the 24-year-old had started just two of the Cardinals' first five games with Brendan Donovan and Alec Burleson operating as the primary second baseman and designated hitter, respectively. Gorman will be eligible to be reinstated April 12, though he could be sidelined beyond the 10-day minimum.

Gorman is starting at designated hitter and batting fifth in Tuesday's contest versus the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
It's just his second start in the Cardinals' first five games, but Gorman had three hits -- including a home run -- in his first start. Willson Contreras is getting a day off in this one, as Alec Burleson will shift from DH to first base.
