Plummer was optioned to minor-league spring training Monday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Plummer signed a major-league contract with the Mets in November, but he failed to win a spot on the Opening Day roster. He slashed .267/.455/.440 with two homers, 19 runs, eight RBI and four stolen bases across 27 appearances at Triple-A Memphis last year, and he's in line to begin the 2022 campaign at the Triple-A level.

The Cardinals promoted Plummer from Double-A Springfield to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
St. Louis determined Plummer was ready for a tougher test after he smacked two home runs Sunday in his final game at Double-A, bringing his slash line up to .283/.404/.489 across 376 plate appearances with Springfield on the season. The 25-year-old outfielder boasts an intriguing combination of power and on-base skills, but his ability to cut down his strikeout rate (28.7 percent at Double-A) will be essentially to him finding consistent success at Triple-A, and eventually, the majors.

Plummer (oblique) has returned to action for Low-A Peoria.
EDGE Analysis
He missed almost a month with an oblique strain, but has returned and is hitting .185/.333/.333 with one home run and 14 strikeouts in 27 at-bats this season. Plummer struck out four times in four at-bats Friday against South Bend, and will really need to cut down on the whiffs (42.4 percent strikeout rate) in order to fully tap into to his intriguing power/speed combination.

Plummer was placed on the 7-day DL on Friday with an oblique strain.
EDGE Analysis
He missed the 2016 season with a wrist injury, and was able to play in just six games with Low-A Peoria before landing back on the shelf with a new ailment. Plummer has five-category potential, but he is behind the developmental curve due to these injuries.

Plummer is on the minor league DL with a wrist injury, Tony Paul of the Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
He has not played in a game this year, in part because he was assigned to rookie ball, and in part because on June 23 he was placed on the DL. He is currently doing rehab, and it is unclear when he will be able to make his 2016 debut in game action.
