Cotts has allowed one earned run while posting a 7:1 K:BB ratio in 5.2 innings over six appearances out of the Brewers' bullpen. Cotts is off to a good start in his first season with the Brewers. He is working as the second left-hander out of Milwaukee's bullpen behind fellow southpaw Will Smith.

Cotts has reached an agreement to sign with the Brewers, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Cotts posted a 4.32 ERA over 66.2 innings out of the Texas bullpen last season, but his peripherals were more impressive, and he recorded a 1.11 ERA in 2013. He'll likely work as a middle reliever for the Brewers.

Cotts notched his second save of the season Tuesday, giving up one run on a hit and a walk with one strikeout, while preserving a two-run lead over the Astros. The Rangers' regular closer, Neftali Feliz was given the night off after throwing 31 pitches the last two days, but he should be ready for the next save situation that presents itself.

Cotts (2-6) took the loss on Friday against the Astros, allowing three runs on four hits in one inning pitched. It wasn't a pretty site as Cotts gave up an eighth inning two-run homer to outfielder Robbie Grossman, while also allowing one more runner to cross the plate. Cotts, who was supposed to be apart of the Rangers plans for late-inning situations, seems to be pitching his way out of save chances. Cotts' ERA jumped up to 3.73 on the season.

The Orioles and Rangers are discussing a trade that would send Neal Cotts to Baltimore, according to MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan. The Orioles are in the market for a left-handed reliever with Zach Britton having settled in as the team's closer. Sullivan reported Tuesday that the Rangers were also considering an extension for the 34-year-old. Cotts has a 3.52 ERA and 50/18 K/BB ratio over 46 innings this season and could help a contending ballclub's bullpen down the stretch.

MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan reports that the Rangers are considering signing Neal Cotts to a contract extension. They're fielding trade offers for Cotts, but Sullivan says extending the left-hander "could be preferable to the Rangers." Cotts has been fantastic since the beginning of last season, posting a 2.03 ERA and 115/36 K/BB ratio over 102 relief innings. "That wouldn't be bad," Cotts said of a potential extension. "Not at all, with the people we have coming back. We have had quite a few injuries and we have underplayed somewhat, but I think it will be a different situation next year. We're going to have a good ballclub."

Neil Cotts returned to action for the first time since getting hit by a line drive on Monday and didn't fare well, surrendering four runs on four hits without recording an out in Friday's loss to the Mariners. The 34-year-old southpaw watched his ERA rise from 3.38 to 7.88 with the brutal outing. He remains a valuable cog in the Rangers bullpen despite his early season struggles.

Neal Cotts left Monday's game in the eighth inning after being hit in the backside by a liner. He seemed to be OK, but the Rangers did decide to make the switch to Alexi Ogando. Consider Cotts day-to-day.

Rangers and LHP Neal Cotts avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.2 million contract. Cotts really found a role in the Rangers' bullpen last season, posting a 1.11 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 65/18 K/BB ratio over 57 innings of relief. Before that, the 33-year-old hadn't pitched in a major league game since 2009. He'll resume a middle relief role with the club next season.
