Tigers released LHP David Robertson. The 36-year-old had been pitching at Triple-A Toledo where he compiled a 3.43 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 12/13 K/BB ratio over 21 innings of work. He'll look for another organization willing to take a chance on him, but it could be the end of the line for Robertson.

Tigers signed LHP Nate Robertson to a minor league contract. Robertson signed the deal with the Tigers last week and reported to the minor league side of camp. The 36-year-old left-hander posted a promising 3.04 ERA in 50 1/3 innings last season for the Rangers' Triple-A team and could help the Tigers as a left-handed relief specialist at some point in 2014.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports that Nate Robertson is looking for a chance to compete for a relief job in spring training and "has spoken with several clubs." Robertson hasn't appeared in the majors since 2010 but pitched well at Triple-A for the Rangers last season, posting a 3.04 ERA while holding left-handed batters to a .213 average. The 36-year-old should be able to get a minor league deal from someone.

Robertson hasn't appeared in the majors since 2010 and put up an 8.07 ERA over 23 games at Triple-A in 2012. He did hold left-handed batters to a .220/.245/.400 line, though, so perhaps someone will give him a shot on a minor league deal.

Cubs signed LHP Nate Robertson to a minor league contract. Robertson registered an ugly 7.14 ERA in 93 1/3 innings at Triple-A Tacoma last season after returning from March elbow surgery. He'll presumably function as organizational rotation depth this year for the Cubs.
