Eaton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Eaton will take a seat for the series finale after he made starts out of the outfield in each of the last four games while going 5-for-12 with a home run, a double, a walk, a stolen base, two RBI and three runs. Boston will go with a starting outfield of Jarren Duran, Ceddanne Rafaela and Rob Refsnyder from left to right Sunday.

Eaton started in right field and went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Eaton busted up a no-hit bid by New York pitching with a seventh-inning home run, one of two hits Boston mustered on the evening. He's been part of the crew helping to fill a void in right field, along with Nick Sogard and Rob Refsnyder. That void will eventually be filled by Wilyer Abreu (calf), who is running at 85 percent, per MLB.com. Abreu could return during next week's series against the Athletics beginning Sept. 16. Since being called up from Triple-A Worcester in August, Eaton is batting .278 with a .750 OPS, one home run, two RBI and six runs scored over 15 games.

Eaton started in right field and went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Eaton doubled and scored Boston's lone run in the third inning. He made a second consecutive start in right field, as manager Alex Cora copes with the loss of Roman Anthony (oblique). Of note, Wilyer Abreu (calf) ran twice over the weekend and came out feeling good. He could be activated later this week, at which point he would become the primary starter in right field.

Eaton started in right field and went 0-for-4 in Friday's 10-5 loss to the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Right field has become a problem for the Red Sox, who are dealing with injuries to Wilyer Abreu (calf) and Roman Anthony (oblique). In the two games since Anthony joined Abreu on the IL -- both against left-handers -- Rob Refsnyder and Eaton have filled the void. Saturday's game will provide a look as to how manager Alex Cora plans to fill the void against a right-hander (Brandon Pfaadt).

The Red Sox recalled Eaton from Triple-A Worcester on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Eaton will join the 26-man active roster in place of Rob Refsnyder (oblique), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. The utility player previously went 6-for-24 with three stolen bases over 14 games with the big club earlier this season. The right-handed-hitting Eaton is unlikely to see many starts versus right-handed pitching, but he could have a regular spot in the lineup versus lefties. He'll serve as Boston's designated hitter and leadoff batter in Monday's matchup with Orioles southpaw Trevor Rogers.

Eaton is expected to join the Red Sox in Boston on Monday, Andrew Parker of Beyond the Monster reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eaton was pulled from his contest with Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, and he is set to join the major-league roster. The outfielder could replace Wilyer Abreu (calf) with Boston if Abreu is forced to miss any action moving forward after suffering a calf injury in Sunday's loss to the Marlins.

The Red Sox optioned Eaton to Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Eaton had started at third base and batted out of the leadoff spot while the Red Sox faced left-handed pitchers in each of the past four games, but he'll end up losing his spot on the 26-man active roster with Boston bringing Masataka Yoshida (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday. During his three-plus-week stay with the Red Sox, Eaton went 6-for-24 (.250 average) with zero home runs, three stolen bases, five runs and one RBI in 14 games.

The Red Sox are expected to option Eaton to Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Masataka Yoshida (shoulder) due to return from the injured list Wednesday, Eaton will end up as the man left without a place on the active roster. The 28-year-old is 6-for-24 in the majors this year with one RBI, five runs scored and three steals through 14 games, and his defensive versatility gives him a better chance to return to the Red Sox later in the year.

Eaton will start at third base and bat leadoff in Monday's game against the Rockies, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-handed-hitting Eaton will set the table for the third game in a row, with the Red Sox having opposed left-handed starters in each of those contests. Eaton was effective in the table-setting role over the Red Sox's final two contests of the weekend against the Nationals, going a combined 2-for-7 with a double, a stolen base and three runs between those games.
