Straw's biggest asset is his speed, and it only took him two plate appearances to get his first stolen base of the season. He and Steven Kwan were the only Guardians batters to reach base multiple times in this Opening Day contest. Straw established himself as an everyday major-leaguer last season with 30 stolen bases to go with a .271/.349/.348 slash line in 158 contests. Expect the 27-year-old to regularly patrol center field and bat leadoff as long as he continues to get on base at a solid clip.

Steals, runs scored and maybe average should be pluses for Straw, but he won't add many homers or RBI despite an everyday role as the Guardians' projected leadoff hitter.
