Moreland visited a doctor Tuesday about his elbow, as a chip may be lodged in an awkward spot, Evan Grant of Dallas Morning News reports. Moreland has reportedly been dealing with elbow soreness since April 17. He has missed two games and has been out of the starting lineup three other times. So far this season, Moreland is hitting .304 with 14 hits, nine RBI, and 10 strike outs over 46 at-bats. In Tuesday's game, Adam Rosales (.200 ERA, four hits, three RBI and seven strike outs over 20 at-bats) will take Moreland's seventh spot in the lineup.

Moreland was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Mariners. It's possible Moreland is dealing with an illness or injury, but it may just be the case that Texas wants another right-handed bat in the lineup against Mariners lefty J.A. Happ. Adam Rosales will lstart at first base and bat seventh in Moreland's absence.

Moreland occupied the fifth spot in the lineup on Sunday against the Angels and went 3-for-5 with two RBI, including the game-tying single in the ninth inning. That is back-to-back starts in the five-hole for Moreland, who is now batting .310 on the season to go along with 9 RBI. Moreland is capable of hitting for power and average and could be in for a decent run of production as long as he's batting in the middle of the order and stays in the lineup versus lefties, which he did on Sunday.

Moreland (elbow) will return to the lineup Friday against the Angels. Moreland has served as a pinch hitter recently, but will finally re-enter the lineup at first base and bat second for the Rangers on Friday. Barring a setback, he should continue to be an everyday name in the lineup moving forward.

Moreland (elbow) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Rangers' VP of Communications John Blake reports. It's now the fifth consecutive game Moreland will be out of the starting lineup, but he was able to serve as a pinch hitter in each of the previous two. The lefty has been experiencing elbow soreness, but his absence in the lineup is more likely due to the Rangers losing the DH slot as they play in a National League stadium.

Moreland (elbow) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, according to Rangers VP of Comm. John Blake. Moreland was able to log two at-bats in Texas' last game Sunday, so his absence from Tuesday's lineup likely has more to do with the Rangers playing in a National League park than his health. Either way, Moreland will be held out of the starting lineup for the fifth straight game.

Moreland (elbow) was an option off the bench Saturday, and is sitting Sunday partly because of the left-handed James Paxton on the mound, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Moreland seems to be doing well following some elbow soreness, and while he's not in the lineup Sunday, it sounds as though his return isn't far off. With the right-handed Chase Anderson scheduled to pitch against the Rangers, his return, or lack thereof, should be telling in regards to his status.

Moreland (elbow) is not in the lineup Sunday against the Mariners, MLB.com's TR Sullivan reports. Moreland is set to miss his third straight since being scratched from Friday's lineup due to an elbow issue. The first baseman remains optimistic he can avoid surgery to remove a loose body in his elbow, but he'll need to get back in the lineup soon if he plans on avoiding the disabled list. Adam Rosales will play first base Sunday, with Prince Fielder serving as the DH.

Moreland took early batting practice Saturday and said afterward that he's "optimistic" he could avoid elbow surgery, MLB.com reports. Moreland downplayed the issue after being scratched from Friday's lineup, saying he didn't think it was a big concern, but tests revealed a "loose body" in the elbow. The hope is that Moreland will be able to play through it, so long as the body doesn't settle in the wrong place. If surgery were needed, Moreland would be sidelined about 2-to-3 weeks.

Moreland (elbow) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the Mariners. A bout of elbow soreness resulted in Moreland's late scratch from Friday's lineup, and he'll sit again Saturday as Shin-Soo Choo serves as the DH. Moreland said he doesn't think it's a big concern at this point, and his ability to take batting practice on the field Saturday would seem to support that claim.
