The Giants placed Haniger on the 10-day injured list Friday with a lower back strain, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's an early shutdown for Haniger, who appeared in only 61 games this season while slashing .209/.266/.365 with six home runs and 28 RBI across 229 plate appearances. The 32-year-old outfielder is owed $20 million in 2024 and carries a $15.5 million player option for 2025.

Haniger is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Diamondbacks, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Haniger had started each of the last three contests and eight of the last nine, but he will begin this one on the bench. Luis Matos is getting the call in left field for the Giants.

Haniger went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in Sunday's 11-10 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Haniger plated a run in the fifth with his first double of the game and then two more in the sixth with another two-bagger. It was just his second multi-hit game since returning from the injured list Aug. 29, and he doubled his RBI total since his return with Sunday's performance. In his 16 games back, Haniger is slashing just .163/.241/.408 and has a 31.5 percent strikeout rate.

Haniger went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a double, a walk and an additional run scored in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Haniger hit safely for his third straight game, and he's homered in consecutive contests. This was his first multi-hit effort in nine contests since he returned from a fractured forearm. The veteran outfielder appears to be getting back on track at the plate. He's still slashing just .224/.277/.402 with six homers, 25 RBI, 24 runs scored and a stolen base over 49 contests this season.

Haniger went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-8 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Haniger has slumped since returning from a fractured right forearm on Aug. 29, going 3-for-23 over eight games in that span. The slow restart has cost him playing time against right-handed pitchers, though he should remain in the lineup regularly versus southpaws. The outfielder's first year with the Giants has been unimpressive with five homers, 23 RBI, 22 runs scored, one stolen base and a .216/.266/.374 slash line over 184 plate appearances.

Haniger is absent from the lineup Tuesday versus the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Mike Yastrzemski will play right field and Joc Pederson is in left as the Giants face right-hander Kyle Hendricks. Haniger has mostly been limited to starts against left-handed pitching opponents since he returned Aug. 29 from a fractured right forearm.

Haniger is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Haniger will head to the bench for the second time in five games, with all of his absences coming against right-handed starting pitchers. Since being activated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Haniger has gone 1-for-11 with a triple and a walk while striking out five times in three games. Until he shows more signs of life at the plate, Haniger looks like he could be limited to a short-side platoon role for the playoff-hopeful Giants.

Haniger is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Following a lengthy stay on the injured list with a fractured forearm, Haniger returned to the lineup for Tuesday's 6-1 win, starting in left field while going 0-for-4 with a run. He'll rest for Wednesday's matinee as he's eased back into action. Joc Pederson and Mike Yastrzemski will serve as the Giants' starting corner outfielders.

Haniger (forearm) went 0-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Haniger didn't get a hit in his return from a broken forearm, but he reached on an error and scored. He played the full game in left field. The 32-year-old outfielder is slashing .224/.274/.362 with four home runs, 22 RBI, 20 runs scored and a stolen base over 41 games this season. He should be a near-everyday option in the near term, at least until Mike Yastrzemski (hamstring) and Michael Conforto (hamstring) are back in the fold.

The Giants activated Haniger (forearm) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Haniger has been sidelined since mid-June due to a fractured right forearm and went 1-for-17 on his five-game minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento, but the Giants need all the help they can get as they try to claim an NL Wild Card spot. The 32-year-old should see regular starts in the San Francisco outfield down the stretch.
