[Technical difficulties resulted in the delay of this article's publication. Please forgive the tardiness, and the resultant cognitive dissonance of a piece entitled "Friday Five" running on a Saturday. -Ed.]
Though the All-Star break is still over a week away, we've passed the halfway point of the 2018 season. At this point, your league's situation -; and your place in it -; has begun to take shape. There's still time to turn things around, but if you're staring up at a bunch of rivals in th[...]
Brad Keller (SP/RP, KC) - Waiver Wire Pickups rotoballer.com Wed 7/4/18 4:53 AM
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 9% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Over the last six weeks, Kansas City Royals pitcher Brad Keller appears on the xwOBA leaderboard at No. 16 with a .329 mark, good for a tie with Luis Severino and right ahead of Miles Mikolas and Blake Snell. Sufficing to say, this fact alone makes Keller a decent add in deeper fantasy leagues
Most of Keller's strong xwOBA comes from limiting big hits with a ridiculous 59.4% groundball rate over 56 innings, but t[...]

He ended up with a no decision on the night, as the Phillies won in the 10th inning. Mikolas has hit a bit of a bump in the road, but he's still been more than solid. Miles Mikolas Puts Up a Quality Start on Tuesday rotoballer.com Wed 6/13/18 7:00 AM
St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas put together a quality start on Tuesday, allowing three runs in his six innings of work. Mikolas was excellent in five of those six innings, allowing only one hit. It the fourth inning of the game, though, Mikolas allowed a home run to lead off the inning and four consecutive singles once he got two outs. Even with the bad inning, it was another strong start overall by Mikolas. He'll be a two-start pitcher next week and worth using in all forma[...]

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas picked up his seventh win on Thursday by pitching seven innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits and a walk while striking out five. He moved his record to 7-1 and dropped his ERA to 2.27. Mikolas has been an amazing find for the Cardinals, and since a rough first two starts of the season, he's been pitching like an ace.
Champ or Chump: Jalen Beeks & Miles Mikolas rotoballer.com Thu 6/7/18 3:00 AM
While fantasy baseball owners would love to roster a rotation consisting entirely of Max Scherzers and Corey Klubers, it's not feasible if you're in a remotely competitive league. Breakouts help, but the true key to maintaining strong performances in the pitching categories is to stream effectively. Basically, that means starting streamers in favorable matchups while avoiding them otherwise.
That's much easier said than done, of course, especially if a streamer gets off to a breakout-type sta[...]
Trading Up - Miles Mikolas rotoballer.com Tue 5/29/18 4:15 AM
The legend of the Lizard King begins in 2011 when a young Miles Mikolas, a self-described picky eater, accepted a teammate's bet to eat a live lizard in exchange for paying Mikolas' Arizona Fall League dues. Mikolas agreed, coated the lizard in Moutain Dew, tasted it quickly, and paced for a moment. Then he crammed the lizard in, taking vigorous if anxious bites the whole time, and downed it in a matter of moments. At that moment, a legend was born.
