Trout went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Friday's loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
After lining a single to center against Jacob Faria, Trout promptly stole second base on a head-first slide in his first start back from a torn thumb ligament. So much for him being hesitant on the basepaths following the six-week absence. He will face right-hander Alex Cobb on Saturday, against whom Trout is 5-for-9 with a pair of homers so far in his career.

Trout (thumb) was activated and is back in the lineup Friday against the Rays, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was fully expected, but Trout's inclusion in the lineup provides final confirmation that the two-time MVP is good to go to begin the second half. Trout hit .337/.461/.742 with 16 homers and 10 steals in 47 games before going down. It remains to be seen whether Trout will be more cautious on the basepaths following the thumb injury, but regardless, he should be active for fantasy owners right away.

Trout went 1-for-1 with three walks and a triple in his final rehab game with High-A Inland Empire. He will return to the majors on the Friday following the All-Star break, according to The Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher.
EDGE Analysis
The perennial All-Star has now made four rehab appearances without a setback and is ready to make his return to the majors after missing 38 games with a thumb injury. Trout was carrying an impressive .337/.461/.742 triple slash in 47 games prior to his trip to the disabled list.

Trout (thumb) started in center field and went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and two runs scored for High-A Inland Empire on Friday before exiting the game in the fifth inning, Inland Empire broadcaster Steve Wendt reports.
EDGE Analysis
The fantasy juggernaut had been 0-for-5 in his first seven plate appearances for the 66ers, so this offered his owners a sigh of relief that he's connecting with authority. His removal seems to be precautionary to keep him fresh during his California League assignment. If all goes smoothly, Trout should return to the Angels sometime during the first weekend of the second half, if not Friday.

Trout (thumb) is expected to play with High-A Inland Empire through Monday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trout could wind up spending even more time with the High-A team, but he plan dictates that he spends the next few days rehabbing with the club. The 25-year-old could get his first crack at playing the outfield during Saturday's contest, as the team will want to see him roaming the field before advancing him onward in his rehab.

Trout went 0-for-2 for High-A Inland Empire on Thursday and is 0-for-5 over seven plate appearances in his first two rehab games there, Pete Marshall of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The positive is that he's working to prove his thumb will remain healthy enough for him to make it through a major-league game. Trout owners may have a fleeting yet justified concern that the injury may hinder his power following his return to big-league action. It's worth watching whether he can drive the ball normally over the next few weeks. As for his next recovery step, he's expected to sit out Friday's 66ers game but join the lineup Saturday, perhaps playing the outfield for the first time on this assignment as he works toward reuniting with the Angels sometime after the All-Star break.

Trout (thumb) will begin his rehab assignment with High-A Inland Empire on Wednesday, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trout will officially progress to the next step of his rehab by getting live action with Inland Empire on Wednesday, marking the first time Trout has played in a game since late May. He is set to spend a few games shaking off the rust, and should be ready to return to the Angels by the end of the All-Star break, barring any setbacks.

Angels general manager Billy Eppler announced Tuesday that Trout (thumb) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with High-A Inland Empire on Wednesday or Thursday, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trout is set to tackle the final milestone in his five-plus week rehab program after undergoing thumb surgery in late May. If all goes well during his minor-league assignment, he'll rejoin the Angels' outfield immediately following the All-Star break on July 14. The team has already announced that he will not be competing in this year's All-Star game.

The Angels announced Trout (thumb) won't play in the All-Star Game.
EDGE Analysis
While Trout has been progressing slightly ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn ligament in his thumb, the Angels appear to have quashed rumors that he might be back before the All-Star break. The 25-year-old slugger is expected to begin a minor-league rehab stint in the near future, and the team expects that assignment to last into the break.

Trout (thumb) could begin his rehab stint with High-A Inland Empire a day or two earlier than expected, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. He will have a full workout with Inland Empire on Tuesday, and if that goes well, he will begin playing in rehab games shortly thereafter.
EDGE Analysis
He will not travel with the Angels to Minnesota, and will instead have a private workout Monday and then join the Angels' High-A affiliate in the California League. It sounds like he could be playing in rehab games as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. It is unclear how many rehab games he will need, but there is a slight chance he could return before the All-Star break if everything goes perfectly.
