Trout (groin) remains out of the lineup Friday against the Cubs, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trout left Tuesday's game against the Brewers with a right groin strain. He sat out Wednesday but was hoping at the time to be back in the lineup Friday. Poor weather in Chicago could be part of the reason why he'll miss at least one more day. Peter Bourjos starts in center field in his absence.

Manager Brad Ausmus said he doesn't expect Trout (groin) to play in Wednesday's series finale with the Brewers but noted the Angels haven't discussed a stint on the injured list for the star outfielder, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trout suffered a right groin strain at some point during the third inning of Tuesday's 11-8 victory, resulting in him getting pulled in the top of the fourth in favor of Peter Bourjos. When meeting with reporters after the game, Trout downplayed the severity of the groin pull and said he wouldn't require an MRI, which supports Ausmus' view that the 27-year-old is considered day-to-day. After presumably sitting Wednesday and benefiting from a team off-day Thursday, Trout is hopeful to rejoin the lineup for Friday's series opener in Chicago versus the Cubs.

Trout was removed from Tuesday's game against the Brewers with a right groin strain.
EDGE Analysis
Trout was replaced in center field by Peter Bourjos at the start of the fourth inning, but the reason for his exit was not immediately clear. Trout was seen on the television broadcast stretching and laughing in the dugout around the time of his removal, so the move may be precautionary. The two-time AL MVP is officially considered day-to-day, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him out of Wednesday's lineup with an off day to follow Thursday.

Trout went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and three walks in Sunday's 7-2 victory over Texas.
EDGE Analysis
Trout is on a different planet right now, crushing five long balls during his current four-game home run streak. In that span, he's gone 6-for-11 with nine RBI and six walks compared to just two strikeouts. Sporting an OPS over 1.500, it's safe to say that the perennial MVP candidate is in midseason form already.

Trout went 1-for-2 with a grand slam and two walks in a 5-1 victory over the Rangers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
It took Trout until the seventh game of the season to hit his first home run, but since then, he's gone deep in three straight games, hitting two Friday and then the grand slam Saturday. Through nine games, he's slashing an incredible .385/.553/.923 with four homers, 10 RBI, five runs and a stolen base in 26 at-bats.

Trout went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Friday's 3-1 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
The $360 million man is off to a blistering start to the season with three homers and a 6:2 BB:K through eight games. Trout set a career high with 122 free passes last year, and with little lineup support beyond an aging Albert Pujols, the best player in the game could be the odds-on favorite to lead the league in that category in 2019.

Trout went 1-for-3 with an RBI double in Sunday's 8-4 exhibition win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
It's been an eventful spring for Trout, who inked a record-breaking contract extension last week and has continued to perform at his usual high level at the plate (1.013 OPS in 44 plate appearances). After mostly being used as the Angels' No. 3 hitter in the final month of 2018, Trout is slated to bat out of the two hole in the team's Opening Day game Thursday in Oakland.

Trout and the Angels are finalizing a 12-year extension worth more than $430 million, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The deal will keep Trout in an Angels uniform for presumably the remainder of his career. He'll top the record for highest average annual value (currently held by Zack Greinke at $34.4 million) and smash Bryce Harper's $330 million contract as the largest in baseball history. The extension will close off the possibility for Trout to wind up in a more hitter-friendly park with a stronger lineup around him any time in the near future, though it's not as if his fantasy stock needs much of a boost.

Trout went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
After striking out in his first trip to the plate -- his first whiff through 14 at-bats this spring -- Trout responded by launching a three-run homer in his next at-bat to put the Angels up 3-2. Unsurprisingly, the superstar outfielder is off to a solid start to spring, slashing .357/.471/.857 with six RBI and a 1:3 K:BB through six Cactus League games.

Manager Brad Ausmus said he is anticipating Trout to hit second in the Angels' lineup next year, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trout spent a majority of this past season split between the second and third spots in the order, though Ausmus appears to have a plan in place to place him in the two-hole heading into spring training. The bottom line is that there's not much of a difference between these spots for a player of Trout's caliber, but he may wind up scoring a few more runs and having less RBI chances if this intention holds true.
