Minor said he will prepare for the 2018 season as if he'll be a starter, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
After spending his first five big-league campaigns as a starting pitcher, Minor was shifted to the bullpen prior to this season in an attempt to keep him healthy and maximize his output. It worked, as he compiled an impressive 2.62 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 85:21 K:BB in 75.2 innings and -- barring any setbacks -- will head into the offseason injury-free for the first time in five years. With a full offseason ahead of him, Minor will stretch out as a starter and compete for a rotation spot in 2018, though he said he's also open to returning to the bullpen. He owns a 4.10 ERA in 110 big-league starts over his career.

Minor recorded a pair of outs in the ninth inning without allowing any baserunners for his fourth save Wednesday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Minor came in with two on, one out and a four-run lead, so he got this save by the tying-run-on-deck rule. He traded an out for a run on a grounder, then got the final batter to fly out. The lefty has now collected saves in four consecutive appearances, and he's given up only a single run over his last 13.1 innings, so he's closing out the season strong.

EDGE Analysis
Minor gave up a leadoff single to Alex Presley, but induced a double play grounder from Ian Kinsler before striking out Jose Iglesias to end it. He's now 3-for-3 in save opportunities and has allowed just two hits with a 5:0 K:BB over three scoreless innings since taking over the closer role.

Minor struck out one in a perfect ninth inning to nail down his second save in Thursday's 1-0 win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Minor was the fourth Kansas City reliever used to complete a two-hit shutout started by Jason Vargas. Manager Ned Yost's latest choice for the ninth-inning role has gotten off to a hot start as the closer, allowing just one hit while posting a 4:0 K:BB in locking down a pair of one-run victories.

Minor collected the first save of his career after allowing a hit and striking out the side in Friday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
With manager Ned Yost trying out a carousel of ninth-inning options, Minor came through to end Cleveland's record-breaking 22-game winning streak. The left-hander has been on fire this month, collecting six wins, five holds and now -- in his 171st MLB game -- his first career save. Minor isn't your prototypical closer, but there's no reason for Yost to try anything else until the 29-year-old falters.

Minor allowed one run on three hits over two innings against the White Sox on Tuesday to capture his 16th hold of the year.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old has picked up four holds and a win over his last five appearances. Minor's comeback from shoulder surgery -- and transition from starter to reliever -- has been nothing less than remarkable. In his first MLB campaign since 2014, the left-hander owns a career-best 2.73 ERA and 1.02 WHIP over a career-high 58 appearances.

Minor will split the ninth-inning duties with Brandon Maurer and Scott Alexander moving forward, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Minor hasn't had any opportunities to be the ninth-inning man for the Royals up to this point in the season, but with manager Ned Yost's removal of Kelvin Herrera from the role, it appears as though the 29-year-old will get a chance to shine in the near future. During the course of the season, Minor has accumulated a 2.82 ERA and 1.01 WHIP to go along with a 76:18 K:BB over 67 innings. It remains to be seen how the Royals will handle this situation, but Minor should warrant a few opportunities in the immediate future.

Minor struck out three over 1.2 perfect innings Tuesday against Colorado to earn his 12th hold of the season.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran reliever had been riding high through most of the campaign before hitting a wall just before August. In seven appearances between July 29 and Aug. 15, Minor posted a 6.23 ERA while being tagged with two blown saves and three losses. He seems to be back on track now, though, as the southpaw has allowed just one hit while striking out seven over his last two games (four innings).
