Kickham was outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, the Star-Telegram's Jeff Wilson reports. The lefty cleared waivers and will continue to offer organizational bullpen depth for Texas. This move will give the Rangers a chance to add infielder Ed Lucas to the 40-man if they choose to send Rougned Odor to the minors to get his confidence back.

Kickham was decent in the upper levels of the minors from 2012 to 2014, but he posted a 7.29 ERA and ridiculous K:BB ratio (12:28) over 21 innings with Triple-A Tacoma this season. Even if he figures out how to throw strikes again, he probably won't have a future as big-league starter. The Rangers may plan on converting the lefty to a full-time reliever.
