Burrows did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 2-1 extra-inning win over the Giants, allowing one run on three hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Burrows allowed a run in the fourth inning but was otherwise sharp, throwing 61 of 91 pitches for strikes while limiting the Giants to three singles. The young right-hander has turned in back-to-back quality starts and yielded just three earned runs over 17 frames in his past three outings. He'll carry a 3.88 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 60:21 K:BB across 58 innings into a home rematch with the Giants early next week.

Burrows did not factor into the decision in Friday's 1-0 extra-innings loss to the Diamondbacks, allowing three hits and one walk with five strikeouts over six scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
Burrows turned in the best outing of his young career, tallying his first quality start while generating 11 whiffs on 86 pitches. The 25-year-old was tagged for six earned runs July 12, but he's allowed just two over 16 innings in his other three starts this month. He'll carry a 4.15 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 53:20 K:BB across 52 innings into a road matchup with the Giants next week.

Burrows did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 10-4 loss to the White Sox, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Burrows opened with four scoreless innings before allowing two runs in the fifth and exiting with a lead the bullpen quickly squandered. It was a solid rebound after he surrendered six runs in his previous start, but the 25-year-old was limited to just 76 pitches and has yet to complete six frames in any of his 10 starts this season. He'll carry a 4.70 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 48:19 K:BB across 46 innings into a challenging matchup with the Diamondbacks next weekend.

Burrows (1-3) earned the loss after lasting just 1.1 innings, allowing six runs on five hits and three walks while striking out one, during Saturday's 12-4 loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
After posting five shutout innings with six strikeouts his last time out, Burrows had perhaps his worst start as a pro. The 25-year-old set a couple of career marks that pitchers don't really like to set, allowing a career-high six runs in 1.1 innings, the shortest start of his young career. The right-hander will enter the All-Star break with a 4.83 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 41 innings pitched.

Burrows didn't factor in the decision Saturday against the Mariners after allowing three hits and four walks over five shutout innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Burrows struggled with his control as he set a season high with four walks, but he was able to scatter three hits to keep Seattle off the board. The right-hander has yet to last six frames in any of his nine outings this season, but he's pitched well as a back-end rotation piece for Pittsburgh with a 3.63 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 41:14 K:BB in 39.2 innings.

Burrows did not factor in the decision during Sunday's win against the Mets. He allowed a run on four hits and a walk while striking out five over 4.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Burrows got the start Sunday on short rest after making a multi-inning relief appearance against Milwaukee on Wednesday. While he did not qualify for the win, he was sharp, with the lone blemish on his outing being Luis Torrens' solo shot in the fifth inning. Burrows dropped his ERA to 4.15 with a 35:10 K:BB through 34.2 innings this season. He's currently slated to start in Seattle next weekend.

Burrows is scheduled to start Sunday against the Mets after he pitched 2.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Brewers, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burrows came on to make his first relief appearance for the Pirates this season after starter Paul Skenes lasted a career-low four innings Wednesday. As a result, the rookie right-hander's turn in the rotation will be pushed back a couple days, and he will take the ball Sunday on three days' rest.

Burrows (1-2) took the loss against the Rangers on Friday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Burrows allowed two runs in the first inning, and then gave up solo homers in the fourth and fifth. The 25-year-old has been a mixed bag through six starts with the Pirates this season, allowing two earned runs or fewer three times and exactly four earned runs in each of the other three outings. He'll take a 4.82 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB across 28 innings into a home matchup with the Mets next weekend.

Burrows came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Cubs, allowing one run on five hits over 5.1 innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie right-hander engaged in a pitchers' duel with veteran Matthew Boyd, and Burrows racked up an impressive 16 swinging strikes among his 81 pitches (56 total strikes) before exiting the mound with the score tied 1-1. The 5.1 innings tied for his longest outing among his first five appearances in 2025 with the Pirates, and Burrows will take a 4.24 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 25:7 K:BB through 23.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Rangers.

Burrows didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Marlins after giving up two runs on four hits and three walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Burrows tied his season high in punchouts, but he did issue a season-high three free passes. The 25-year-old right-hander has yet to deliver a quality start or even reach the sixth inning in any of his four outings, but he has conceded just two runs to go with an encouraging 12:3 K:BB over his last 9.2 innings. Burrows has a 5.00 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB through 18 frames overall, and he's in for a difficult assignment his next time out against the first-place Cubs.
