Pineda blanked the Red Sox across seven innings on Thursday, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out six. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
After giving up a leadoff single to Enrique Hernandez, Pineda retired 14 batters in a row before issuing a walk to Hunter Renfroe in the fifth frame. It's worth noting that Boston decided to test their weather alarm before and during Renfroe's at bat. Pineda not only pitched through it, but bounced back from the walk by sending Franchy Cordero down on strikes to end the inning. The right-hander then faced the minimum over the next two frames and left the game poised for the win with a three-run lead. Unfortunately, the bullpen robbed him of the opportunity after tying up the score in the eighth. Pineda has now allowed three or fewer earned runs in his last 11 starts. On the season, the 32-year-old leads the Twins with a shiny 1.00 ERA and 0.72 WHIP across three games. He's scheduled to take the mound again Wednesday at Oakland.

Pineda allowed two runs on four hits and zero walks over six innings during Saturday's extra-inning loss to Seattle. He had six strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old pitched well during his second outing of the season, with the Mariners only crossing the plate via a pair of solo homers. Pineda has given up three runs (two earned) on eight hits with a 11:2 K:BB over 11 innings through his first two starts of 2021, and he's poised to pitch against the Red Sox on Thursday.

Pineda (1-0) gave up one unearned run on four hits and two walks and struck out five over five innings in Sunday's win over the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda was solid, and a Jorge Polanco error in the second inning led to the only run against the right-handed starter. The 32-year-old Pineda was reliable last year with a 3.38 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 25:7 K:BB across 26.2 innings as a starter. He begins 2021 as the Twins' No. 3 starter, and he lines up to face the Mariners on Saturday in his next start.

Pineda gave up one run in 2.2 innings with six strikeouts and one walk in Friday's spring training loss to Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
It was his second outing of the spring though his first two-inning outing Saturday was technically rained out. He has ten strikeouts in 4.2 innings this spring and looks ready for Opening Day. He made just five starts last season but had a 3.38 ERA with a 22.5 percent strikeout rate and 6.3 percent walk rate. He's set to begin the season as Minnesota's No. 3 starter.

Pineda threw two scoreless innings with four strikeouts in two innings in Saturday's spring training game against Boston. The game was rained out after two innings. Pineda had fastball velocity of 91-92 mph, according to MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda got his work in despite the game being called off and was sharp, retiring all six batters he faced. He made just five starts last season but had a 3.38 ERA with a 22.5% strikeout rate and 6.3% walk rate. He's struggled at times in his career with giving up hard contact, but his low walk rate and manageable home-run rates (13.5% HR/FB in 2019, no home runs allowed last season) show he can be a dependable No. 3 starter for the Twins.

Pineda allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over four innings in a no-decision against the Reds on Saturday. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
It looked like it might be a very short night for Pineda as he allowed a run on two hits and a walk before even recording an out. Devin Smeltzer was warming up to potentially replace Pineda early in the game, but Pineda rebounded and went on to retire five straight hitters to end his night. Pineda made five regular-season starts after returning from suspension, posting a 3.38 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 25:7 K:BB in 26.2 innings, without a single home run allowed. The 31-year-old is in line to start the third playoff game for Minnesota; he could potentially work in tandem with Rich Hill early on in the postseason.

Pineda (2-0) earned the win over the Cubs on Saturday, pitching five innings and allowing one run on four hits and no walks while striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda wasn't able to rack up strikeouts in the performance but was nonetheless very effective, holding Chicago to a single run to pick up his second victory of the campaign. Since returning to the mound on Sept. 1, the veteran right-hander has posted a 3.18 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 22.2 innings covering four starts. That has allowed him to stake a claim in Minnesota's rotation, though it's not yet clear how the Twins will line their starters up for the three-game opening round of the playoffs. Pineda will have one more tuneup prior to the postseason, currently scheduled for Friday at home against the Reds.

Pineda allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk over 4.2 innings Sunday, striking out eight in the win over Cleveland. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda wasn't especially effective Sunday, needing 98 pitches to get through just 4.2 innings. He yielded an RBI single to Carlos Santana in the first inning before another two runs scored in the third. The veteran right-hander owns a 3.57 ERA in 17.2 innings this season. Pineda will look for his second win when he takes on the Cubs in Chicago on Saturday.

Pineda (1-0) picked up the win Monday against Detroit, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks across seven innings. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
After notching a quality start in his season debut Sept. 1, Pineda was even better Monday against the Tigers. Detroit pushed a run across in the fourth and added one more in the seventh, but the right-hander was nearly flawless outside of those two innings. The 31-year-old has allowed just three runs across 13 innings, while posting a strong 12:3 K:BB. He will take a 2.77 ERA and 0.92 WHIP into his next start, which figures to come either over the weekend vs. the Indians or early in the following series against the White Sox.

Pineda is slated to make his next start at home in Monday's series finale with the Tigers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda returned from a suspension to make his season debut Tuesday, working six innings and giving up two runs en route to taking a non-decision against the White Sox. Despite an off day Thursday that would have allowed the Twins to temporarily keep all of their starters on four days' rest, manager Rocco Baldelli will instead opt for a bullpen game for one half of Friday's doubleheader with Detroit. That will result in Pineda missing out on his second start of the week Sunday, and the right-hander may need a strong showing Monday to maintain a permanent rotation spot. Minnesota could get Jake Odorizzi (abdomen) back from the injured list as soon as next week, and his return would likely prompt Baldelli to move one of Pineda or Randy Dobnak to the bullpen in order to keep a five-man rotation intact.
