Pineda (2-2) allowed five runs on nine hits with two strikeouts and a walk across five innings in a loss to the Astros on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander didn't really have a chance in this one, as his counterpart, Gerrit Cole, held the Twins to one hit in seven innings, helping the Astros cruise to an easy 11-0 win. Still, Pineda has been struggling lately. He's allowed 15 runs in his last 14 innings across three starts, which has caused his ERA to balloon to 6.21. Pineda pitched better in his first three starts of the year, but hitters are still batting an incredibly high .316 against him this season. Overall, he is 2-2 with a 1.48 WHIP and 22 strikeouts to go with his 6.21 ERA in 29 frames this year. His next schedule start is Sunday at the Yankees.

Pineda didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Astros, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks over 5.1 innings while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander got staked to a 3-0 lead before he stepped on the mound, but Pineda found himself on the hook for the loss by the time he was done after 86 pitches (57 strikes). The Twins were able to tie it back up in the top of the seventh before their bullpen fell apart, though. The 30-year-old will take a 5.63 ERA and 20:5 K:BB through 24 innings into his next outing -- a rematch with the 'Stros in Minnesota on April 30.

Pineda (2-1) allowed six runs on seven hits (including two home runs) with just one strikeout and a walk in 3.2 innings during a loss to the Blue Jays on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The Twins spotted Pineda a lead, but he gave up two homers in the first four innings. He gave up a bases-clearing double in the fourth as well, which ended his afternoon. Pineda is experiencing some issues keeping the ball in the yard, as he's allowed four homers through four starts this season. That's the biggest reason why he owns a 5.30 ERA. He is also 2-1 with a 1.23 WHIP and 16 strikeouts in 18.2 innings. His next start is expected to be on the road against the Astros.

Pineda (2-0) earned his second victory by pitching six innings Saturday against the Tigers, allowing three runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and no walks.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda allowed two runs in the third inning on four singles and a sacrifice fly but kept the Tigers off the board except for a Christin Stewart solo homer in the sixth. He was removed after throwing 96 pitches and has walked just two batters over his 15 innings this season. The 30-year-old now sports a 3.00 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP, and is scheduled to face the Blue Jays at home on Thursday.

Pineda is scheduled to make his next start Saturday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Rather than moving Pineda to the back of their rotation order after his previously scheduled turn for Friday was postponed, the Twins will simply push him back one day along with the rest of their starters. Jose Berrios will take the hill for the Twins on Sunday in the series finale.

Pineda won't make his scheduled start Friday against the Tigers after the game was postponed due to inclement weather.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers and Twins will make up the contest as part of a split doubleheader May 11. The Twins haven't clarified how they'll arrange their pitching schedule following the postponement, but it's likely that manager Rocco Baldelli will just push Pineda back one day in the schedule rather than skipping his turn entirely. Pineda has looked good through his first two outings of the season, allowing two runs and striking out 10 over nine innings while conceding just five hits and two walks.

Pineda (1-0) earned the win against the Phillies on Saturday by allowing two runs on four hits across five innings. He struck out five and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda was pulled after giving up a single to Jean Segura to lead off the sixth inning, and he eventually came around to score. Pineda reached 80 pitches Saturday as he continues to ease into things after not seeing major-league action since 2017 due to Tommy John surgery. The 30-year-old has given up two runs on five hits over nine innings during his two starts, and lines up to pitch against the Tigers next weekend.

Pineda allowed a hit and a walk and struck out five over four scoreless innings Sunday against the Indians. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda looked sharp in his 2019 debut, allowing just two batters to reach base while firing 28 of 40 pitches for strikes. Despite cruising through four frames, the Twins elected to keep his start brief considering this was his first major-league outing since undergoing Tommy John surgery and a surgery to repair his right knee. The 30-year-old right-hander could see a longer leash heading into his next start Sunday in Philadelphia.

Pineda threw five scoreless innings with five strikeouts and one walk in Wednesday's spring training start.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda, who had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee at the end of August while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, looks fully healthy and back to his prior form this spring. He has 13 strikeouts and three walks in 15.1 innings with a 3.52 ERA over five games.

Pineda fired two scoreless innings Friday against the Red Sox, allowing one hit while striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda looked sharp in what was his first game against major-league hitters since July 5, 2017 -- he underwent surgery in August to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, an injury he suffered while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. The right-hander fired 18 of his 26 pitches for strikes while sitting between 93 and 95 mph with his fastball. Most important, Pineda said his knee and elbow felt good afterwards, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic. He'll continue to ramp things up in his next outing and should have no problem getting up to speed before Opening Day, barring setbacks.
