Kelly allowed no hits and a walk with no strikeouts over a scoreless inning in Saturday's 4-2 loss against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Kelly worked a scoreless seventh inning while issuing just a walk to Mike Yastrzemski. The right-hander has been excellent in September, posting a 1.93 ERA and 0.96 WHIP over 11 outings, including seven straight appearances without an earned run -- his longest streak since opening the year with 10 consecutive scoreless frames. Overall, the 33-year-old owns a 2.75 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 41 appearances and 39.1 innings this season.

Kelly recorded his second save of the season in Friday's 4-3 win over the Pirates, giving up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning without striking out a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander made things interesting, giving up a leadoff double and then escaping a one-out jam with runners on the corners by getting Tommy Pham to ground into a double play. Kelly has two of the A's four saves this week, with Hogan Harris collecting the other two, and the two arms appear to be manager Mark Kotsay's top ninth-inning options as the season draws to a close, depending on matchups. Over 7.1 innings in September, Kelly sports a 2.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB.

Kelly earned the save in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Reds, tossing a perfect ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old right-hander converted his first career MLB save with a clean frame, closing out the win. Kelly has been a volatile middle-relief option recently and now carries a 3.09 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 26:16 K:BB across 35 innings. While Kelly isn't expected to see many more save opportunities as the season closes, Sunday's effort showed he's capable of handling the role when called upon.

Kelly (1-0) earned the win in Thursday's 6-4 victory over the Astros. He allowed no hits and one walk over a scoreless inning.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was summoned for the 10th inning and escaped unscathed, inducing an inning-ending double play off the bat of Jake Meyers to set the stage for a Nick Kurtz walk-off homer. Kelly was reinstated June 5 after serving a year-long suspension for violating MLB's gambling policy. Since returning, the reliever has tossed 6.2 scoreless innings. While his 3.65 FIP and 5.4 BB/9 suggest potential regression, the Athletics have to be encouraged by Kelly's performance after a year off from MLB action.

The Athletics reinstated Kelly (suspension) from the ineligible list Thursday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kelly had been suspended one year for violating the league's gambling policy. The 32-year-old posted a 2.59 ERA and 22:10 K:BB over 31.1 relief innings for the Athletics last season and could end up serving in a middle-relief or setup role now that he's available to the big club again.

Major League Baseball announced Tuesday that Kelly has received a one-year suspension for violating the league's gambling policy, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
MLB's investigation determined that Kelly bet a total of $99.22 on MLB games during a time he was with the Astros' Triple-A affiliate in Sugar Land during the 2021 season. Currently, Kelly is on the Oakland roster and has posted a 2.59 ERA over 28 relief appearances with the big club. He won't appeal the suspension.

Kelly (3-2) picked up the win over Atlanta on Saturday, firing a scoreless inning during which he issued two walks and uncorked a wild pitch.
EDGE Analysis
Kelly's somewhat unorthodox line was befitting of the wild game it occurred in, but the veteran ultimately emerged with his third win of the season. Kelly came in to record the final out of the sixth with Jarred Kelenic on third and the Athletics clinging to a one-run lead, but he then handed Scott Alexander a two-on, two-out jam in next frame that the latter was able to wiggle out of to keep Kelly as the pitcher of record. Kelly has now turned in scoreless efforts in seven of his last eight appearances, bringing his ERA (2.59) down to its lowest point since April 20.

Kelly (2-2) took the loss against the Rays on Wednesday, allowing an earned run on two hits over one-third of an inning.
EDGE Analysis
Kelly located six of his nine pitches for strikes, but he allowed a leadoff double to Amed Rosario and an eventual walk-off RBI single to Jose Siri in what was a quick Rays game-winning rally. The right-hander saw an eight-appearance streak of not allowing an earned run snapped with the stumble, but Kelly retains an impressive 2.70 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 30 innings (26 appearances) this season.

Kelly (2-1) took the extra-inning loss against the Astros on Tuesday, allowing an unearned run on one hit over one-third of an inning.
EDGE Analysis
With closer Mason Miller having worked both the eighth and ninth innings, Kelly was tasked with preserving the 1-1 tie in the 10th. Jake Meyers immediately moved over inning-opening runner Trey Cabbage to third with a flyout before Kelly surrendered a walk-off single to Victor Caratini, putting a quick end to the right-hander's unsuccessful high-leverage scenario. Kelly has now allowed a total of four runs (three earned) in two of his last four outings, but he's otherwise been a fairly reliable option for manager Mark Kotsay with a 3.00 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a pair of holds in addition to his two wins.

Kelly (1-0) got the win Tuesday against the Rangers, firing a perfect eighth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Kelly followed an effective three-inning appearance by Mitch Spence with a crisp eighth frame where he needed only 10 pitches, seven which landed for strikes, to get his three outs. The 31-year-old right-hander's pristine performance was an extension of a strong stretch of pitching, one that's seen Kelly put together four consecutive scoreless one-inning appearances after surrendering three earned runs over three innings in his first two outings of the campaign.
