Michael Cuddyer is out of Friday's lineup against the Cardinals due to a disc problem in his neck. Cuddyer is receiving treatment and is considered day-to-day, though there's a chance that the condition could linger. "This is something I've dealt with since 2004," said Cuddyer. "When this happens, it locks me up. I can't turn my neck, and it makes it very difficult to play." Eric Young, Jr. will start in right field Friday night.

Michael Cuddyer launched a two-run home run in a loss to the Rays on Friday. While it was his only hit of the evening, Cuddyer continues to produce at a very high level. The 34-year-old is batting .317/.385/.587 with six home runs, 22 RBI and a .971 OPS through 27 games. He's not a great bet to hold up for the entire season, so it might not be a bad idea to cash in on his hot start in fantasy leagues.

Michael Cuddyer was scratched from Thursday's game against the Mets because of a minor leg injury. Cuddyer wanted to play, but the weather is rough right now in Denver and the Rockies didn't want to test it. Eric Young Jr. will start in right field for Colorado.

Michael Cuddyer went 1-for-4 on Wednesday against the Giants, improving his batting line to .387/.406/.677. Cuddyer has two home runs and seven RBI. He missed time earlier this month with a sore left wrist but is now feeling fine. The 34-year-old makes for a good second outfielder in standard mixed fantasy leagues.

Michael Cuddyer is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Brewers. He's just getting the day off. Rockies manager Walt Weiss said during spring training that he wanted to work Eric Young Jr. into the mix and he's delivering on that promise early, as the speedster is starting in right field and batting leadoff. Chris Nelson will take a seat while Reid Brignac makes his first major league start at third base.

According to FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi, the Rockies have no plans to move Michael Cuddyer. Coming off an injury-plagued 2012, Cuddyer has been subject to trade speculation this offseason. Morosi reports that the Mariners expressed interest "awhile back," but the Rockies haven't shown any indication that they're willing to make a trade. Cuddyer, who batted .260/.317/.489 with 16 home runs and an .806 OPS in 101 games last year, is owed $10.5 million in each of the next two seasons. He should remain a fine third outfielder in mixed fantasy leagues.

Michael Cuddyer is officially done for the season due to an oblique injury. Cuddyer is feeling better and likely would have begun a rehab assignment if there was more time left in the season, but he's now focused on having a healthy offseason. "I'm out here working," said Cuddyer. "That's what I'm paid to do, to be here and be a teammate. That's what I can do right now. I don't think there's any point in playing in one of these games and being hurt and having to start back from square one for the offseason." Cuddyer batted .260/.317/.489 with 16 home runs, 58 RBI and an .806 OPS in 101 games this season and is owed $10.5 million in each of the next two seasons.

Michael Cuddyer (oblique) has begun some hitting in the batting cage. It had been thought that Cuddyer was done for the season, but it appears there's a glimmer of hope that he might make it back for a few games. Even if he does, the Rockies figure to take it easy on him. He hasn't played since aggravating a right oblique injury back in mid-August.
