CBS Sports' Jon Heyman writes that the Mariners like Michael Bourn "very much." It remains an odd fit for Bourn, as the Mariners are moving in the fences and reportedly have put an emphasis on adding corner outfielders. The market for the speedy outfielder is quickly shrinking, so he may have to lower his asking price. Heyman names the Phillies and Rangers as other possibilities, but it's not clear if there's any real interest there.

CBS Sports' Danny Knobler reports that the Mariners are meeting with agent Scott Boras on Tuesday. Boras represents many players, so it doesn't necessarily mean anything significant, but Jon Heyman of CBS Sports mentioned earlier Tuesday that the Mariners could emerge as a suitor for Michael Bourn. The M's primary goal this winter is to add some sock to their lineup and Knobler hears that they have inquired about Diamondbacks' outfielder Jason Kubel.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports writes that the Mariners could emerge as a suitor for free agent outfielder Michael Bourn. The Mariners have cast a wide net to upgrade their offense this offseason, as they have been connected to power bats and corner outfielders like Josh Hamilton, Justin Upton and Michael Morse, but Bourn is apparently on their list of potential targets. It would be a bit of an odd fit, as the Mariners already have a fine center fielder in Franklin Gutierrez, but he has had a really tough time staying healthy. It's believed that Bourn is looking for a deal north of B.J. Upton's recent five-year, $75.25 million deal with the Braves, but the market for center fielders is shrinking quickly. The Phillies are among the other teams in the mix for Bourn.

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that the Giants have had discussions with the representatives of Michael Bourn, Angel Pagan and Shane Victorino. The Giants' preference seems to be to retain Pagan, but it's clear that general manager Brian Sabean is exploring all options in his search for a center fielder. Bourn obviously will command the most money of the three, but Heyman notes that San Francisco has money to spend. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported previously that the Giants have offered Pagan a four-year deal.

According to Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago, the Cubs have had conversations with the agent for free agent outfielder Michael Bourn. The Cubs don't seem like an obvious fit, as they have Brett Jackson and Jorge Soler on the farm as future options at the position, though they may not be ready to make a major league impact this season. Bourn is allegedly seeking a deal worth more than $100 million.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports the Giants have checked in on Michael Bourn. The Giants are focused on re-signing Angel Pagan, but could turn their attention to Bourn or Shane Victorino if an agreement isn't reached. Bourn declined the Braves' $13.3 million qualifying offer this offseason, so any team that signs him will forfeit a first-round pick. According to Heyman, it's likely that at least one of Bourn or B.J. Upton will sign in the NL East.

Reds general manager Walt Jocketty has indicated that it's unlikely his team will pursue Michael Bourn. "You think we can afford him?" Jocketty said. Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com reported earlier this month that the two sides might be a fit, but it never seemed to be a particularly likely match. The Phillies and Nationals are among the teams that are expected to be in play for the speedster.

Michael Bourn has declined the Braves' one-year, $13.3 million qualifying offer. David Ortiz finalized a two-year, $26 million contract with the Red Sox earlier this week, but all eight of the other players who received qualifying offers ended up turning them down. And none of those decisions were unexpected. Bourn is coming off a career-year at the plate and is still an excellent defender in center field. The Braves would love to have him back, but the Reds, Phillies and Nationals are among the team who are reportedly interested.

Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com reports that the Reds are interested in Michael Bourn. The Reds have been desperate for a leadoff hitter for a while, as they've often been forced to hit Brandon Phillips in the No. 1 spot even though they'd prefer to hit him in the middle of the order. Knobler says they "can't be considered a favorite" to land Bourn, though, as he'll ultimately likely get a deal for more than they're willing to spend. The Reds probably will have to set their sights a bit lower. They've been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Coco Crisp, should the A's decide to move him.

Michael Bourn will decline the Braves' qualifying offer. Bourn will receive a multi-year deal in free agency for likely more annually that the $13.3 million he would get with the qualifying offer, so turning it down was a no-brainer. The Braves will net a draft pick as compensation.
