Phillies recalled LHP Mauricio Robles from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. A waiver claim over the winter, Robles has spent all season in the minors, putting up a 1.97 ERA and 63/44 K/BB ratio over 64 frames between Double- and Triple-A. While he has a nice arm, walks have always been an issue for the southpaw. He won't be used in high-leverage situations.

Mariners designated LHP Mauricio Robles for assignment. The move was made in order to clear space on the 40-man roster for recently-signed outfielder Jason Bay. Robles struggled mightily with his control in 2012, issuing 63 walks over 71 2/3 minor league innings. Should he clear waivers, he'll continue to serve as bullpen depth at Triple-A Tacoma.
