Top 30 Impact Prospects for Redraft Leagues (Week 14) rotoballer.com Wed 7/3/19 7:15 AM
The Top 10 tier lost two high-profile prospects this past week with the promotions of pitcher Bryse Wilson, pitcher (and hitter) Brendan McKay (Rays), and second baseman Keston Hiura (Brewers). McKay and Hiura could play huge roles in their respective teams race for a playoff berth. The Rays multi-tool prospect had an eye-opening debut against the Rangers and more than justified his fourth-overall ranking on last weeks list.Pitcher Dylan Cease ([...]
Shin-Soo Choo is Sitting Out Against Tigers rotoballer.com Wed 6/26/19 6:04 PM
Texas Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Detroit Tigers. This appears to be nothing more than a rest day for the veteran outfielder. Willie Calhoun will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh versus lefty Matthew Boyd. Calhoun has been hitting fairly well since being recalled, but he could have some struggles against Boyd.
Starting Pitcher Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 10 rotoballer.com Sun 6/9/19 7:30 AM
Before we dive into this week's recommendation, kudos to my colleague David Emerick for filling in admirably in this space the last two weeks while I was catching up with family and friends back east.As we move deeper into the first half of the season, the waiver wire usually thins out a good bit. Most teams are still angling to win and actively participating, and between injuries and finally cutting the cord on early-season disappointments, it can be difficult to find reinforcements. Difficult [...]

Matthew Boyd Posts Second Straight Scoreless Outing rotoballer.com Wed 5/29/19 7:06 AM
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd took the hill on Tuesday against the struggling Orioles and did exactly what he was supposed to do, holding the Orioles scoreless over six innings of work with eight strikeouts and just one walk. He scattered six hits in the outing. Boyd has been a pleasant surprise in a weak Tigers rotation, posting a 5-4 record with a 2.11 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 72 2/3 innings of work. His 2.78 FIP suggests that we can expect solid production to continue for Boyd[...]
Matthew Boyd A Strong Start Tuesday Against Baltimore rotoballer.com Tue 5/28/19 8:59 AM
Despite the recent struggles for the Detroit Tigers, starting pitcher Matthew Boyd is a strong play Tuesday against an equally bad Orioles squad. The ace of the Detroit staff with Michael Fulmer (elbow) out for the year, Boyd has turned in a 3.11 ERA with 80 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings of work. Baltimore has the 22nd-ranked offense in terms of runs scored this season and Boyd has held opponents to a .200 batting average in road starts this season. If he fails to notch a win, it will likely be[...]

Matthew Boyd Labors Through Four Innings rotoballer.com Mon 5/13/19 9:12 PM
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd gave up three earned runs in four innings pitched Monday night vs Houston. He only struck out two and needed 96 pitches to get through four innings. Boyd was plagued by the long ball in this one serving up two home runs which accounted for all three runs scored against him. Despite the rough outing, Boyd still boasts a 3.15 ERA and has a 10.8 K/9. He should still be owned in all leagues and has an easier matchup later this week when he's scheduled to [...]
