Vierling went 2-for-8 with a home run, a stolen base, two runs scored and two RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader sweep of the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
After singling in the eighth inning, stealing second and scoring what proved to be the tying run in a 6-5 win during the matinee, Vierling helped drive Max Scherzer from the nightcap in the fourth inning with a two-run shot. The 26-year-old outfielder has hit safely in five straight games and eight of the last 10, batting a sizzling .382 (13-for-34) over the latter stretch. The surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .281/.333/.416 with two homers, four steals, nine runs and 10 RBI in 96 plate appearances.

Vierling went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old's big performance in the matinee earned him another start in the nightcap, when he went 1-for-3 with a walk. Vierling is pushing hard for a consistent starting role, as he has three multi-hit efforts in his last five starts to push his slash line on the season up to .286/.345/.403 through 84 plate appearances. There are still plenty of rough edges to his game -- even with base stealing made easier by MLB's rule changes, he's gone just 3-for-7 on steal attempts so far in 2023 -- but with Austin Meadows (personal) still away from the team, Kerry Carpenter (shoulder) on the IL and Akil Baddoo producing a tepid .644 OPS, Vierling appears to be Detroit's best corner-outfield option right now.

Vierling went 3-for-5 and stole a base in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Vierling tallied three singles but wasn't able to come around to score despite serving as Detroit's leadoff man. He did manage his third stolen base of the season in six attempts and upped his average to .258. Vierling has seen regular playing time in his first season with the Tigers and that should continue moving forward.

Vierling is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Despite going 2-for-5 with a run scored in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Orioles to end a 1-for-12 slide at the plate over his previous five games, Vierling will head to the bench for the series opener in Milwaukee. Kerry Carpenter will fill in for Vierling in right field while Miguel Cabrera occupies Carpenter's usual designated-hitter spot.

Vierling will not start Saturday's game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Vierling sits for the fifth time in the Tigers' first 19 games. He's not making a great case for everyday at-bats, hitting .222/.276/.333. Kerry Carpenter starts in right field Saturday.

Vierling is absent from the Tigers' lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Guardians, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kerry Carpenter will handle right field in the first game, with Vierling likely to be out there for the nightcap. Vierling is amidst a 3-for-23 funk at the plate.

Vierling went 2-for-6 with two runs scored in Friday's extra-innings win over the Giants. He also stole a base.
EDGE Analysis
Vierling was productive from the leadoff spot, contributing the two runs and also his second stolen base of the season. The outfielder has played in 11 of the team's first 13 games, with left-handed hitters Kerry Carpenter and Akil Baddoo also in the mix with Austin Meadows (personal) out. Vierling isn't a great fantasy asset at the moment, but he does get a boost from batting first, which he's done in three of his last five starts.

Vierling is not in the Tigers' lineup for Thursday's game in Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Vierling has pretty much been an everyday player for the Tigers in right field but will sit this one out. Kerry Carpenter will handle right and Tyler Nevin will be the designated hitter.

Vierling is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Vierling will sit for just the second time in the Tigers' first nine games of the season, opening up a spot in the outfield for the newly recalled Akil Baddoo. Though Vierling appeared to be viewed as a short-side platoon option to begin the season and benefited from the Tigers facing a lefty-heavy schedule early on, he should have a chance to play regularly against right-handers moving forward in the wake of Austin Meadows being placed on the 10-day injured list due to anxiety. Vierling has been one of the early standouts for the 2-6 Tigers, batting .286 with two extra-base hits and a stolen base through his first 30 plate appearances.

Vierling went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Monday's win over Houston. He was also caught stealing.
EDGE Analysis
Vierling singled three times and scored a run in the second inning but he saved the best for last with his two-run, go-ahead blast in the 11th. He took Hector Neris deep with a 108 mph rocket to dead center. Vierling snapped an 0-for-7 skid through his first two games as a Tiger.
