Reynolds (elbow) has allowed two runs on two hits over two innings in two relief appearances with Triple-A Reno to the begin the season.
That he is healthy enough to pitch is more important than the results right now, as Reynolds is moving further away from Tommy John surgery in September of 2013. If he proves effective in the PCL, Reynolds should be back in the Arizona bullpen later this season.

Reynolds (elbow) was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Monday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
Reynolds has been recovering from Tommy John surgery and a rib issue in spring training, likely leading to his placement in Triple-A. If he can return to form, however, it's quite possible he will rejoin the Diamondbacks' bullpen in short order.

Reynolds (ribs, elbow) has made two Cactus League appearances this spring.
He's returning from Tommy John surgery, so the Diamondbacks are monitoring his workload closely this spring. Reynolds may begin the season on the 15-day DL, but his absence could be brief if he can make further progress in his recovery over the final two-plus weeks of spring training.

Reynolds (ribs) will face hitters Friday, the Arizona Republic reports.
A timetable for his return to game action is still unclear, and it's entirely possible that Reynolds will begin the season on the 15-day DL. His availability for Opening Day should be determined in the coming weeks.

Reynolds (elbow) has been slow by a minor rib issue this spring, the Arizona Republic reports.
Returning from Tommy John surgery, Reynolds finished his rehab at the end of last season. He's slightly behind the team's other pitchers, but should have enough time to make a push for the Opening Day roster in the coming weeks.

Reynolds' contract option for the 2015 season was exercised by the Diamondbacks on Thursday.
Reynolds didn't pitch with the Diamondbacks in 2014 due to a slight tear in his UCL. He should return in 2015, and will make avoid arbitration with the option being exercised, and is scheduled to make $600k in 2015.

Reynolds (elbow) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Friday, Jack Magruder of Fox Sports Arizona reports.
Reynolds threw off a mound for the second time since he had Tommy John surgery last September. His next step will apparently be pitching in the instructional league Wednesday for his first rehab appearance. If he pitches well and has no ill effects, a couple of outings in the league may be all he needs before rejoining the Diamondbacks.

Reynolds (elbow) threw 29 pitches in a live batting practice session Friday.
Friday's live session marked Reynolds' first since he underwent Tommy John surgery last September. Live batting practice is typically one of the final hurdles a pitcher must clear before heading out for a rehab assignment, and while the team may want to see him throw several sessions, there's at least a chance Reynolds is assigned to an affiliate in the next week or so. The lefty has a career 3.58 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 153.1 innings.

Reynolds (elbow) will face live hitting for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery last September, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
Reynolds hasn't pitched in the majors since last June, but appears to be moving towards a return by facing live hitting for the first time since the UCL strain. He is still a ways away from potentially rejoining the bullpen, requiring a good amount of outings before the team will decide what to do with him.

Matt Reynolds (elbow) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Tuesday.
It was his first time throwing from a mound since last September's Tommy John surgery. "He's pretty pumped up about it," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. "I think it's exciting." Reynolds remains hopeful of making a late-season return, but it's far from a guarantee.
