EDGE Analysis

Joyce entered Wednesday's loss to the Red Sox as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and went 1-for-2 with a solo home run.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce hit for Chad Pinder to open the seventh and promptly launched a 381-foot shot to right field, his fifth homer of the season. It was also his second round tripper in as many games and third overall in his last five, a power surge that's helped push Joyce's slugging percentage over the .400 mark for the first time since April 25. The veteran outfielder has also coaxed his average back over the Mendoza Line with his 3-for-6 tally over the last two games, but at .207, his average still sits 34 points below his career figure of .241.

Joyce will retreat to the bench for a second straight game with southpaw Chris Sale taking the hill for the Red Sox. Chad Pinder will draw another start in his absence.

Joyce is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce will take his usual seat on the bench with a left-hander (Eduardo Rodriguez) toeing the rubber for the opposition. In his place, Chad Pinder will start in left field and hit second.

Joyce went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Red Sox on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce's 416-foot shot to right in the third off Rick Porcello opened the scoring on the night and served as the first of three round trippers the slugging Athletics would tally in the win. The veteran outfielder has now gone deep in two of the past four games, one of the few bright spots in a month of May during which he's hitting an anemic .195.

Joyce went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a walk in a win over the Yankees on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce made noise out of the two-hole, and his eighth-inning homer off David Hale was his first since way back on April 8. The 33-year-old has been struggling at the plate throughout May, but his .294 average (5-for-17) over the last five games -- a stretch that also includes a double and three RBI -- may be a sign that he's starting to emerge from his slump.

Joyce is not in the lineup Monday against the Astros, Julian McWilliams of The Athletic Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
As per usual, Joyce will take a seat on the bench with a southpaw (Dallas Keuchel) toeing the rubber for the opposition. In his stead, Mark Canha will start in left field and bat seventh.

Joyce went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored Sunday in the 2-1 win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce is batting just .198 with two home runs and four RBI in 86 at-bats this season, but he put together a solid day at the place Sunday. He'll look to build off his second multi-hit performance of the year moving forward as the A's begin a three-game series with the Astros on Monday.

Thu 5/3/18 5:11 PM

Joyce is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Expectedly, Joyce will stick on the bench for a second straight game to avoid a lefty-on-lefty matchup against opposing starter Wade LeBlanc. Chad Pinder will start in left field and hit eighth in his stead.
