Matt Holliday launched a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning of Saturday's 6-5 win over the Royals. Holliday is 5-for-9 with two homers, a double and four RBI since returning from the disabled list Thursday. His heroics on Saturday night led to a curtain call and snapped St. Louis' seven-game losing streak. The slugger should be able to maintain his MVP-like ways for the rest of the year.

Matt Holliday made a splash in his return to the lineup Thursday, homering in his first at-bat and later adding a single and a pair of walks. Holliday drilled a ball deep into the left field seats for his seventh home run in what was his first at-bat of the month. He's hitting a robust .348 on the year to go along with 32 RBI but has been limited to just 158 at-bats due to an appendectomy and, more recently, a quad ailment.
