Mets signed RHP Matt Fox to a minor league contract. Fox was playing with the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League. The 27-year-old hasn't pitched in the majors since 2010 and will serve as organizational depth at Triple-A.

Mariners signed Matt Fox to a minor league contract. Fox is a candidate for the majors in 2011 but will need to make the most of his opportunities in spring training. The 27-year-old right-hander posted a 3.96 ERA in 129 innings for the Red Sox Triple-A affiliate this season.
