Duffy (hamstring), who received a day off in his rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Sunday and continues to remain free of setbacks, is just a handful of at-bats away from the 25-30 the Rays want to see him log before activation, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran infielder likely has everyone in the organization crossing their fingers at this point, as it seems he's tantalizingly close to making his 2019 big-league debut. Duffy encouragingly played a full game at third base for the Bulls on Saturday, and with 21 at-bats since his rehab resumed July 4, he's as little as one game away from hitting the team's desired benchmark. Duffy is slated to play in Monday's game with Durham at minimum, but he could well be up with the major-league club by the end of the week.

Duffy (hamstring) went 1-for-5 with a two-run double, an RBI groundout and two runs in Triple-A Durham's win over Norfolk on Saturday and played a full game at third base.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy has now accomplished the rather unlikely feat of knocking in six runs with just one extra-base hit (Saturday's double) over the last two rehab games. The veteran infielder is reportedly closer than ever to finally seeing big-league action in 2019, and his ability to play the field for all nine innings Saturday may have sealed the deal in terms of his forthcoming activation.

Duffy (hamstring) could be activated off the 60-day injured list sometime next week, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy, who has been on the shelf all year while nursing a persistent hamstring injury, is progressing very well in his final step before coming off the IL. In his five games since beginning his most recent rehab assignment, Duffy is slashing .188/.188/.250. The 28-year-old has been suffering from this hamstring injury since late February, so it is not unexpected that he's showing some early rust in his first few games back.

Duffy (hamstring) is 1-for-8 with three RBI over his first two rehab games with Triple-A Durham.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy started at third base in his first game with the Bulls on Thursday and played seven innings in the field, and he returned to play a full game Friday as the designated hitter. Duffy hasn't had much success at the plate thus far, but of overriding importance is that his balky hamstring has held up well. It remains to be seen how many more games Duffy will need to play to be deemed ready for activation, but Durham is expected to be the last stop in his rehab assignment, barring any further setbacks.

Duffy (hamstring) advanced his rehab to Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy will play third base Thursday and Saturday, with a game as the designated hitter in between. He's been on and off rehab assignments for most of the season due to multiple setbacks but appears to be finally closing in on a return to the majors.

Duffy (hamstring), who's slated to move his rehab assignment to High-A Charlotte, remained with the Gulf Coast League Rays on Tuesday and went 0-for-3 while logging seven innings at third base against the GCL Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays apparently opted to leave Duffy with the GCL club for at least one more game, and he was able to encouragingly able to put in another seven innings in the field. The veteran infielder had last suited up for a game last Friday, so he received plenty of rest ahead of Tuesday's action.

Duffy (hamstring) is set to continue his rehab assignment with High-A Charlotte, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy reported no soreness from an earlier rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast League Rays. He started at third base both Thursday and Friday, a positive sign for his health after battling the injury since February.

Duffy (hamstring) started at third base in the Gulf Coast Rays' win over the Gulf Coast Braves on Friday and went 1-for-3 with an RBI double and a run.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy logged five innings in the field for the second consecutive night and was able to contribute offensively with his run-scoring two-bagger. The veteran is likely to only play another handful of games at most with the GCL club before moving his rehab assignment to High-A Charlotte, as per previous reports.

Duffy (hamstring) started at third base in the Gulf Coast League Rays' loss to the Gulf Coast League Orioles on Thursday and went 1-for-2 while playing five innings.
EDGE Analysis
It was a positive return to action for Duffy overall, with Thursday marking his first time suiting up since May 24. The veteran infielder is expected to eventually move his rehab assignment up to High-A Charlotte and Triple-A Durham, as he continues his quest to still suit up for the Rays at some point in 2019. "He knows he has a little bit of a road ahead of him, but start getting his at-bats and see where that takes us," manager Kevin Cash said. "But he felt good going out and as he said, it's probably the best he has ever felt going to a rehab this season."

Duffy (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy hasn't played at the big-league level all season as he's dealt with multiple setbacks while recovering from a hamstring strain. He spent some time on a rehab assignment in May before being shut down late in the month. He's nearly ready to get back to some game action but still isn't particularly close to getting back into a big-league contest.
