Carpenter went 1-for-4 with a run in Tuesday's 9-4 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Despite reaching safely for the seventh time in the last nine games, Carpenter has endured a difficult month at the plate in terms of batting average. He's hit just .213, although his six homers have helped him to .360 and .461 figures in OBP and slugging, respectively. However, a resurgence appears inevitable once Carpenter's luck turns around, as his impressive 51.5 percent hard contact over 111 May plate appearances has been neutered in part by a .217 BABIP.

Carpenter is not in the lineup Saturday against the Rockies, Jim Hayes of Fox Sports Midwest reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carpenter will head to the bench for the first time in May after slashing .221/.371/.506 with six homers through the first 21 games of the month. Jedd Gyorko will slide over to start at first base in his stead, opening up a spot for Jhonny Peralta to start at the hot corner.

Carpenter went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Carpenter's ninth dinger of the season was his first since May 14, and his slash line is now up to .235/.381/.492 on the season with 27 RBI in 168 plate appearances. He's cooled down a bit after a scorching start to the month, but he remains a useful contributor in most categories in all fantasy formats.

Carpenter went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Carpenter opened May with a flurry, smacking four homers in the first five games. He hadn't gone deep since that point until Sunday, when his 435-foot shot to right center in the third with Kolten Wong extended the Cardinals' lead to 4-0 at the time. The blast pushed Carpenter's RBI total in May to 10, and his team-leading RBI and slugging totals to 24 and .410, respectively.

EDGE Analysis
The veteran infielder continued knocking the cover off the ball Monday, with his fourth-inning three-bagger, his first of the season, extending his hitting streak to four games. Carpenter had homered in each of his prior three games and factoring in Monday's production, he's hitting .333 and is making hard contact at an excellent 62.5 percent clip in the first seven games of May.

Carpenter went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Carpenter opened the scoring on the afternoon with a 406-foot shot to right in the first, giving him a homer in three straight games and fourth over the last six. The veteran infielder has already boosted his average 21 points in six May games and knocked in six runs over that span as well, as he spearheads a Cardinals offense that appears to finally be awakening from a season-long slumber.

Carpenter went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, three runs and three walks during Friday's win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Currently sporting an 8-for-27 run at the dish with eight runs, three home runs, 12 RBI and a 1.241 OPS, Carpenter has rounded into form. Hitting third instead of leading off has provided plenty of RBI opportunities early on, and the veteran infielder has a good shot at topping his previous career-high mark of 84 from the 2015 campaign.

The 31-year-old is sporting a 16.5 percent walk rate that's his highest since his initial 19-plate appearance big-league cup of coffee, but is striking out at a career-high 23.7 percent clip while making contact a career-low 71 percent of the time.

Carpenter went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run and three RBI during Sunday's loss to Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
With nine RBI through his past four games, Carpenter is doing his best to put his quiet start to the season behind him. Additionally, moving to the heart of the Cardinals order should enable the veteran a shot at posting a career-high mark in the RBI column without sacrificing too many runs.
