Stroman is moving to the bullpen and will be available in relief Sunday against the Red Sox, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees will go with a five-man rotation this next turn through and manager Aaron Boone said they could go with a five-man rotation the next time through as well. Stroman figures to serve as a long reliever who could get a spot start in the final week if the Yankees are setting things up for the postseason.

Stroman (10-8) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks over 5.1 innings as the Yankees fell 5-0 to the Royals. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander didn't pitch poorly, tossing 56 of 89 pitches for strikes, but Seth Lugo was dominant Tuesday and the Yankees managed only three singles in support of Stroman. He's completed six innings only twice in nine outings since the All-Star break, stumbling to a 5.40 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 31:13 K:BB through 43.1 innings over that stretch. Stroman will look for a better result in his next start, which lines up to come on the road early next week in Seattle.

Stroman (10-7) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three over 3.2 innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman had gone at least five innings in each of his previous four starts, but the Rangers got to him early Wednesday. This was the sixth start in a row in which Stroman didn't give up a home run, which is progress since he allowed eight long balls across the six starts before that. The veteran right-hander is now at a 4.03 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 105:58 K:BB over 143 innings through 27 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Royals.

Stroman (10-6) earned the win Friday against the Cardinals, allowing two runs on nine hits and no walks over seven innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old picked up his ninth quality start with this 98-pitch performance despite yielding nine runs, matching a season-worst set on July 27 against Boston. However, Stroman only allowed one extra-base hit -- a Paul Goldschmidt double in the second -- as he notched his second walk-free outing of the season. This marks the fifth time with double-digit wins in his 10-year career. The veteran righty has now pitched to a 3.81 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 102:57 K:BB across 139.1 innings this season. He currently lines up to face the Rangers on the road for his next start.

Stroman (9-6) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings to earn the win over the Rockies on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman was a little off Sunday, throwing 56 of 97 pitches for strikes, but he had ample run support to pick up his second win over his last three outings. He's gone at least five innings in three straight starts after doing so just two times across six appearances between June 28 and Aug. 2. The veteran right-hander is now at a 3.88 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 97:57 K:BB through 132.1 innings over 25 starts this season. His 3.9 BB/9 is by far the worst of his career, and his 6.6 K/9 is his lowest mark in a full campaign, which at least partially explains his inconsistency this year. Stroman is projected to make his next start at home versus the Cardinals.

Stroman did not factor into the decision in Sunday's loss to the Tigers, tossing six scoreless innings while allowing four hits and two walks. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman had one of his best outings in recent memory Sunday. It was his first time reaching six innings since June 22 and his fourth time this season shutting the opponent out and reaching six innings. He exited the game with a narrow 1-0 lead that eventually slipped away in the ninth. Stroman has now allowed just one run over his last two starts after allowing 10 combined in his two starts prior. His strikeout averages this year are one of the lowest of his career and his walks are up, but he's trending towards a fifth straight season with an ERA below 4.00. For the year, Stroman owns a 3.82 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 92:54 K:BB in 127.1 innings. He lines up to face the Rockies at home over the weekend his next time out.

Stroman (8-6) earned the win over Texas on Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out one batter over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman's one punchout wasn't ideal from a fantasy perspective, but it didn't impact his ability to notch his first victory since June 22. The veteran righty had posted a 7.56 ERA and 1.92 WHIP during the six-game winless stretch, so he'll look to Sunday's performance as a potential turnaround point. Stroman's next outing is tentatively lined up to take place in Detroit this weekend.

Stroman's next scheduled start has been pushed back to Sunday against the Rangers as he works through some mechanical issues, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman's next turn would have been Friday, but the Yankees will give him a couple extra days as he irons some things out with his delivery. The right-hander has posted a 7.56 ERA and 1.92 WHIP over his last six starts and lasted just 2.2 innings his last time out versus the Blue Jays. Carlos Rodon and Gerrit Cole will each move up a day to start on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Stroman (7-6) took the loss Friday, surrendering seven runs on eight hits and a walk over 2.2 innings as the Yankees fell 8-5 to the Blue Jays. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Facing the team he spent the first five-plus seasons of his big-league career with, Stroman got tagged for three runs in the first inning and four more in the third before getting the hook. The veteran right-hander managed to avoid serving up a home run -- the first time he's done so in a Yankee Stadium start since May 3 against the Tigers -- but it was still another rough home outing for Stroman, who has a 5.34 ERA in 59 innings at home this year but a 2.83 ERA in 57.1 innings on the road. He'll try to turn things around in his next outing, which also comes at Yankee Stadium next week against the Angels.

Stroman allowed five runs (three earned) on nine hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout over 3.1 innings in a no-decision Saturday versus the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman has failed to complete five innings in three of his last five starts, and he's lost the two outings in that span to reach that threshold. The Red Sox did their damage against him in the first two innings, and Stroman exited at 60 pitches (34 strikes) after just 10 outs. For the season, he's carrying a 3.64 ERA, but that's up from 3.29 at the end of June. He's added a 1.35 WHIP and 83:48 K:BB through 113.2 innings over 21 starts. The veteran right-hander is tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Blue Jays.
